Role Summary (Impact in this Role): Objective / Purpose of the Position

As a Manufacturing Costing Intern, you will play a key role in analyzing data related to manufacturing processes, raw materials, and cost structure. You will collaborate closely with the sourcing department to align data-driven insights with procurement strategies and supplier performance evaluations. Additionally, you will develop detailed cost breakdowns and CBD analysis to identify opportunities for creating more competitive quotes, and you will also learn how to develop a design for manufacturing method, gaining hands-on experience in data-driven decision-making within the manufacturing sector.

Areas of Responsibility: Essential Functions
  • Analyze customer technical documentation and drawings, extracting critical data—such as raw materials, processes, and GD&T—to facilitate feasibility reviews and prepare sanitized specifications for manufacturing partners.
  • Develop detailed Cost Breakdown (CBD) models and analyze manufacturing cost structures to provide actionable insights for competitive quoting and procurement strategies.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineers to refine and maintain costing tools, ensuring data accuracy and continuous tool improvement.
  • Contribute to the implementation of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) methodologies to improve process efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Work closely with sourcing, logistics, and process to bring customer quoting solutions.

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and manufacturing cost structure is a plus.
  • Proficiency in CAD software like Solidworks, AutoDesk Fusion, etc.
  • Experience in data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or equivalent.
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

Además, desarrollarás desgloses de costos (CBD) detallados y análisis para identificar oportunidades que permitan generar cotizaciones más competitivas, y también aprenderás a desarrollar un método de diseño para manufactura (DFM), obteniendo experiencia práctica en la toma de decisiones basada en datos dentro del sector manufacturero.

Áreas de responsabilidad: Funciones esenciales
  • Analizar documentación técnica y planos de clientes, extrayendo datos críticos —como materias primas, procesos y GD&T— para facilitar las revisiones de factibilidad y preparar especificaciones depuradas para los socios de manufactura.
  • Desarrollar modelos detallados de Desglose de Costos (CBD) y analizar las estructuras de costos de manufactura para brindar información aplicable en cotizaciones competitivas y estrategias de compras.
  • Colaborar con Ingenieros de Manufactura para refinar y mantener las herramientas de costeo, garantizando la precisión de los datos y la mejora continua de las herramientas.
  • Contribuir a la implementación de metodologías de Diseño para Manufactura (DFM) para mejorar la eficiencia de los procesos y la rentabilidad.
  • Trabajar de cerca con sourcing, logística y procesos para generar soluciones de cotización para clientes.

Perfil deseado: Habilidades, capacidades, características y cualidades distintivas
  • Actualmente estudiando o haber concluido recientemente una carrera en Ingeniería Industrial, Manufactura, Ingeniería Mecánica o un campo relacionado.
  • Se valora el entendimiento de los procesos de manufactura y de la estructura de costos de manufactura.
  • Dominio de software CAD como Solidworks, AutoDesk Fusion, etc.
  • Experiencia con herramientas de visualización de datos como Tableau, Power BI o equivalentes.
  • Automotivación, con capacidad para trabajar tanto de forma independiente como en equipo.
