The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for supporting manufacturing operations through process improvement, problem solving, data analysis, and project execution. - Support production processes, tooling, and equipment to maintain a validated manufacturing environment while meeting safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives.
- Provide responsive manufacturing floor support by investigating issues, gathering and analyzing data, and partnering with Operations and Quality teams to implement effective solutions.
- Analyze process and product performance data to identify trends, evaluate root causes, and recommend improvements.
- Develop and implement cost-effective improvements to product quality, process capability, productivity, ergonomics, and manufacturing cost.
- Create and maintain manufacturing documentation including work instructions, process specifications, engineering reports, and records required by change control processes.
- Plan and execute assigned engineering tasks and projects, tracking progress and communicating risks, issues, and results.
- Collaborate with cross-functional and global teams to support product transfers, process sustainment, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support new product introductions, product transfers, process validation activities, and continuous improvement projects to ensure successful manufacturing execution and compliance with quality system requirements.
- Participate in equipment and tooling evaluations, qualification activities, troubleshooting efforts, and manufacturing process improvements.
- Support risk assessments, process verification activities, validation efforts, and change control processes under established engineering guidance.
- Follow applicable Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), Quality System, and regulatory requirements.
- Build technical knowledge of manufacturing processes, products, tooling, and equipment while independently completing work within an assigned scope.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Electrical, Biomedical, Chemical, Materials Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related engineering discipline from an accredited university or college.
- 0-3 years of experience in an engineering discipline.
- Relevant internships, co-op assignments, academic projects, laboratory experience, research activities, or manufacturing experience may be considered.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to analyze data, solve problems using a structured approach, and develop practical recommendations.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across multiple functions.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to plan and execute assigned tasks while managing priorities and meeting commitments.
- Internship, co-op, project, or work experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Exposure to process-intensive or regulated manufacturing environments, including medical devices, pharmaceuticals, life sciences, or other quality-system-controlled industries.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, root-cause analysis, statistical methods, or continuous improvement tools.
- Exposure to process validation, equipment qualification, risk assessment, or change-control activities.
- Experience with manufacturing systems and tools such as ERP, MES, quality management systems, or data analysis applications.
- Working knowledge of engineering and data-analysis tools such as Excel, Minitab, CAD, or similar software.
- Hands-on aptitude and interest in learning manufacturing processes, tooling, equipment, and product requirements.
- Exposure to precision manufacturing, electromechanical assembly, medical devices, ceramics, polymers, or transferred-product manufacturing environments.
- Strong curiosity and desire to develop long-term technical expertise within manufacturing engineering.
