Job Description

EBAD is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer (ME) with project management experience working in a manufacturing environment. The ME position reports directly to the Manufacturing Engineering Lead.

Responsibilities:

The Manufacturing Engineer (ME) is the technical lead of the manufacturing processes of internal and external projects and is responsible for the implementation and execution of successful production activities.

Primary duties include:

  • Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation (including manufacturing instructions, routings, process specifications and tooling)

  • Solving manufacturing problems, investigating process failures and implementing corrective actions

  • Providing continuity during transitions from proposals to production by acting as the main technical liaison between the customer and EBAD.

  • Coordination with other departments to ensure the production viability of new designs, creation of the required documentation, and internal and customer approval of documentation.

  • Interface with production personnel including operators, quality inspectors, and shop floor supervisors

  • Generate content for Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), Process 3P (Production Preparation Process), TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) and PHA (Process Hazard Assessment)

  • Implementation of lean manufacturing methodologies including standard work, point of use tooling, material presentation and process improvements

  • Lead and Support Kaizen activities to support the Kaizen teams

  • Develop manufacturing cell layouts including tooling, machinery and equipment as needed.

  • Create standard work and contribute to manufacturing planning

  • Identify, lead, and implement Capital Expenditure (CAPEX/CAR) initiatives as related to manufacturing equipment, machinery and automated inspection equipment

  • Lead and support repeat/high volume projects by managing the customer technical documentation, manufacturing documentation and test documentation.

  • Be a technical liaison for manufacturing process creation, validation and implementation

  • Tracking status and ensuring completion of operations milestones and tasks for production programs

Requirements:

The successful candidate must have a BS/MS in an engineering discipline, preferably mechanical engineering, industrial engineer, or manufacturing engineering or related manufacturing experience in multi-part mechanisms and mechanical assemblies.

Additionally, it is desired that the candidate has experience in the following areas:

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in manufacturing

  • Project management skills with the ability to document, plan, and execute projects related to manufacturing equipment and process improvement

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems using formal problem-solving tools.

  • Demonstrated ability of implementing of Continuous Improvement & Lean Manufacturing methodologies

  • Familiarity with the Aerospace & Defense industry, AS9100, ISO9001 or other heavily regulated industry

  • CAD, 3-D modeling, assembly creation, drawings and GD&T in SolidWorks

  • Design for Manufacturing methods and techniques

  • MS Office proficiency – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, and Visio

  • Enterprise/Manufacturing Resource Planning (ERP/MRP) systems.

  • This position requires good shop floor presence, and motivation to become a process subject matter expert.

  • The manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for investigations and daily floor support.

Compensation:

Salary Range: $95,000 - $140,000 per year. Salary is determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
