Job Summary:  At Kooks, we provide high performance parts to meet the ever-changing needs of our customers. Kooks headers and exhaust are built to deliver the quality, power, and sound our customers want. The Manufacturing Engineer will identify, recommend, and implement solutions to production problems related to materials, processes, and tooling. 

Key Responsibilities:

· Reviews production program equipment, hardware, and tooling; makes recommendations for repairs or replacement.

· Assist with the implementation of new processes, methods, and production controls.

· Assist with implementation of new equipment and ensure that it operates correctly; trains others to operate new machinery.

· Prepares operations manuals for new or existing equipment.

· Maintains knowledge of new and developing manufacturing technology, equipment, and applications; applies this knowledge to recommend and implement new technology and processes.

· Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  

Required Skills / Abilities:

· Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess problems or issues with manufacturing equipment.

· Extensive knowledge of production principles and techniques.

· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

· Proficient with computer-aided drafting (CAD) software, SolidWorks preferred.

· Proficient with machine operations and programming, to include bending machines, CNC machines, Forming machines, ETC.

Education and Experience:

· Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field, or 10+ years in manufacturing engineering role required.

· Three years of experience as a manufacturing engineer required.

· CNC controls experience.

· Knowledge of welding is a plus.

· Knowledge of robotics is a plus.

Physical Requirements

· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

· Able to spend time in shop with machines and operators.

· Must be able to lift 35 pounds at times.

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field, or 10+ years in manufacturing engineering
  • Three years of experience as a manufacturing engineer
