Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer - Tooling Manufacturing Engineer to support tooling programs, manufacturing operations, supplier coordination, and engineering design activities. The ideal candidate combines strong mechanical design expertise with project coordination and manufacturing support experience. This individual will be responsible for managing tooling data and documentation, coordinating suppliers, supporting product development activities, and ensuring designs are manufacturable and production-ready. The successful candidate will have extensive experience with CAD modeling, tooling and manufacturing processes, production support, and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain and update tooling trackers and engineering request status to ensure accurate and current program information.
  • Verify tooling quantities, engineering data, and overall accuracy of tooling records and documentation.
  • Develop, maintain, and support tooling status reports and dashboards using Power BI.
  • Track supplier quote requests, monitor responses, and follow up on outstanding quotations.
  • Ensure all tooling-related documentation, quotes, drawings, and engineering files are properly stored and maintained within SharePoint and other data repositories.
  • Establish and manage shared data locations to support collaboration between suppliers and internal engineering teams.
  • Schedule and coordinate design reviews, engineering meetings, supplier meetings, and project status reviews.
  • Participate in quote reviews and support tooling sourcing and procurement activities.
  • Track engineering gate approvals and project milestones from design through fabrication and implementation.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks or roadblocks, and communicate status updates to stakeholders.
  • Coordinate engineering changes and communicate prototype modifications to suppliers to ensure accurate fabrication and production builds.
  • Create and maintain 3D CAD models, assemblies, and detailed manufacturing drawings.
  • Support product development and redesign projects, including structural components, mechanical assemblies, cooling systems, and component integration.
  • Research materials, components, and manufacturing methods to support engineering and production requirements.
  • Apply Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) principles to improve product quality, manufacturability, and cost.
  • Develop detailed engineering documentation, production drawings, and release packages.
  • Provide hands-on engineering support to manufacturing, production, and prototype build activities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve design, tooling, and manufacturing issues.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Experience in engineering design utilizing CATIA V5 and SolidWorks.
  • Strong proficiency in 3D modeling, assembly design, and detailed drawing creation.
  • Experience supporting tooling, manufacturing, production, or mechanical engineering programs.
  • Knowledge of tooling design, fabrication processes, and manufacturing best practices.
  • Strong understanding of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.
  • Experience creating parameterized 3D CAD models and detailed 2D engineering drawings.
  • Knowledge of material properties and applications including steel, aluminum, and carbon fiber.
  • Experience designing components for machining, fabrication, bending, and assembly processes.
  • Understanding of manufacturing feasibility, tooling requirements, and production readiness.
  • Experience developing engineering documentation, specifications, and production support materials.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working with Power BI and engineering data management systems.
  • Familiarity with SharePoint or similar document management platforms.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with suppliers, manufacturing teams, and engineering stakeholders.
  • Experience supporting prototype development, validation, and production launch activities.
  • Background in structural and mechanical system design, including complex assemblies and production support engineering.
 

Salary Range: 80,000 - 85,000

The actual salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, the candidate’s combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience
