Purpose of the Job:
Reporting to the Production Engineering Manager, the Manufacturing Engineer conducts specialized assignments to develop new methods, tooling, and machine designs, cost estimates, and/or to resolve engineering problems involved in manufacturing or quality control using basic and sound engineering principles, policies and controls
- Design, implement and document processes for shop floor activities taking into account best engineering practice, health and safety requirements, environmental requirements, product quality and ensuring compliance with external regulatory bodies as well as meeting internal requirements.
- To take part in audits of company activities.
- Design of specialist jigs or fixtures to assist production build and test activities.
- To provide technical support for shopfloor in maintaining process instructions, documentation control, providing and maintaining equipment for current products.
- To actively assist in problem investigation and resolution.
- To assist in improving maintenance and provide support where necessary.
- Investigation into new processes and equipment and provide estimates when required for equipment cost for proposals and project cost targets.
Essential
- B. S. Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Industrial Technology, or equivalent. The equivalent could be an Associate Degree in Manufacturing Engineering with appropriate 3-5 years’ experience in manufacturing or a minimum of 5 years' experience in manufacturing in assembly or machine shop environment
- Experience in Assembly environment
- Excellent computer skills, Excel/Access/ Word
- Good basic electro / mechanical engineering skills
- Experience or ability to learn Labview
Desirable
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement techniques
- Good awareness of Health & Safety practices

Skills Required
