Job DescriptionWe are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our Rexel USA team in Santa Clara, CA!
Summary:
The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible to provide coordination between sales, operations, and suppliers to assist during the initial design, building, and structuring of bills of materials and all pertinent documentation for newly designed and first built products. The Manufacturing Engineer will execute a business development strategy by providing product selection assistance, accurately and efficiently processing requests for quotations and orders while offering a positive experience for our customers. Also responsible for the growth and development of the company’s relationships and sales efforts for all Assembly Services Group accounts and vendors.
What You'll Do:
- Establish, develop, and maintain excellent working relationships with all assigned and prospective customers, suppliers, and co-workers
- Independently interpret and understand drawings and/or specifications. Follow processes and procedures per customer requirements
- Generate required CAD files and data for Enclosure Modification
- Actively participate in the development of new products and processes to promote business growth and productivity targets, including scale-up, equipment, and process qualification and validation
- Develop and implement improvements related to safety, quality, service, and cost (productivity) and provide technical support for manufacturing
- Participate and lead cross functional teams as necessary to meet project plans and objectives. Interface with external and internal stakeholders such as customers, sales, customer service, and vendors to provide necessary engineering input and outputs prior to release to the production floor
- Lead and manage Capital projects such facility layout, defining workflows to optimize and improve production processes, and tools needed to scale-up production activities
- Responsible for preparing and maintaining production schedules, costs, bills of material, design, material and system level documentation, assembly, and testing for assigned new projects
- Design, develop, and validate test equipment as required by the customer specifications.
- Perform Root-Cause Analysis on customer returned equipment and document the findings
- Display or demonstrate product knowledge and emphasize saleable features that will transition to market growth
- Maintain current knowledge of market conditions and trends; keep management informed of local competition and market conditions
- Oversee purchase, discount, and price files for customers; review files of existing customers as needed
- Assist and resolve customer requests and/or problems in a prompt and professional manner
- Review daily all relevant reports such as open order and open quote reports
- Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications
What You'll Need
- 5+ years of manufacturing engineering or related experience with a Bachelor's degree
- 2+ years of manufacturing engineering or related experience with a Master's degree
- Electrical distribution industry experience preferred
- High School or GED - Required
- 4 Year / Bachelor's Degree - Required
- Graduate Degree - Preferred
- Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing Engineering or related field
- Master's Degree in Engineering preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Prototype set up and production
- Editing and red-lining documentation
- Rockwell Automation Software Experience (Connected Components Workbench, RSLinx, RSNetworx, etc.)
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar CAD software
- Possess strong organizational skills; attention to detail. Passion for creating high quality designs with attention
- Execute documented procedures on-site at customer facilities
- Demonstrate core competency around Rockwell Automation products and associated manufacturing technology
