Role Description:

The manufacturing engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and improving manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety in production environments. This role involves collaboration with various functions to ensure that products are manufactured to the highest standards while optimizing costs and resources.

Role Responsibilities: 

  • Process Design and Implementation: Develop and implement manufacturing processes and work instructions to improve production efficiency and product quality.
  • Automation and Technology: Research and integrate automation techniques and new technologies to enhance manufacturing operations.
  • Quality Control: Evaluate and improve quality control processes, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze production data and workflows to identify areas for improvement and provide management with actionable insights.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with design, procurement, and quality assurance teams to ensure seamless production operations and product compatibility.
  • Cost Estimation: Review and calculate production costs, labor, and material requirements to assist in budgeting and resource allocation.
  • Training and Mentorship: Provide training and support to production staff on new processes and equipment to ensure effective implementation.

Role Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or a related field.

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment, with a focus on startup of new production lines, moving of existing production lines, process improvement and project management.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in CAD software, manufacturing technologies, Lean Six Sigma, and quality control methodologies.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.

Work Environment:

On site in our Lehigh Valley manufacturing facility, with occasional office work. Some travel may be required to visit suppliers or customers, especially in the first 6-9 months.
