Your team (OMTMW) specializes in metallic technologies, notably Additive, Forming, and Welding. Experience the special flair of Hamburg in your spare time where vibrant cosmopolitan culture meets nautic legacy.

  • Diversity Connects: Work in a diverse environment with more than 140 nationalities, where exchange, mutual support, and inclusion are part of our DNA.

Your tasks and responsibilities
  • Drive technology innovation: Lead the development of metal industrial technologies, from proposing new applications to driving serial process improvements. Specifically, welding automation and monitoring in a German LuFo funded research project.

  • Master industrial readiness: Conduct Process Capability Analysis and lead Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) 4–7 assessments.

  • Lead end-to-end industrialization: Act as the industrial authority for welding, additive and forming, overseeing manufacturing trials, authorizing specifications for serial aircraft parts manufacturing or production equipment, supporting plants and guiding suppliers.

  • Optimize product design: Collaborate with cross-functional teams on Design-to-Cost and Design-for-Manufacturing (DFM) initiatives to ensure efficiency for current and future programs.

Your Profile
  • Education & Experience: Master's degree in Engineering with a robust scientific basis and minimum 5 years of experience in an industrial manufacturing environment, having worked on both serial production support and new line/product development.

  • Technical Expertise: Strong background in metallic aerospace materials and manufacturing processes: Welding (incl. automation), Additive (LB-PBF, wDED), Forming, heat treatment, NDT, surface finishing/protection; with proficiency in Process Capability Analysis and MRL assessments.

  • Supplier Relations: Proven experience collaborating with external partners and suppliers for both serial production and (funded) research projects.

  • Soft Skills: Leadership, autonomy, and the ability to influence cross-functional, transnational teams.
