As a Manufacturing Engineer, you are responsible for developing and maintaining methods, operating sequences, and processes in the fabrication of parts, components, subassemblies, and final assemblies. You'll work closely with other engineering functions to coordinate the release of product improvements and new products, and you'll use engineering principles to estimate and reduce manufacturing costs, improve product quality, determine time standards, and make recommendations for tooling and process requirements. Your expertise in lean principles, automation, and continuous improvement will be instrumental in driving operational excellence and achieving higher levels of productivity and cost-effectiveness. You'll develop and use test procedures, evaluate test results, and assess work methods, procedures, and policies to identify root cause issues and solutions that ensure operational success.

Role Responsibilities: 

  • Helps to develop operation sequence and processes related to the building of sub-assemblies and final assemblies. This may include designing build/lift fixtures or making engineering design changes to improve the production process. May also include in helping with build cell/manufacturing layouts that aim to streamline the production process.

  • Interfaces with other engineering disciplines to coordinate the release of product improvements and/or new products.  Writes, releases, approves, implements, and issues engineering change orders (ECO’s) as required to support design engineering and operations for new and existing products.

  • Determine root cause and corrective actions for issues that arise during assembly and/or test of systems and subsystems; Implements corrective actions to eliminate future occurrences. This often requires strong and effective communication skills.

  • Estimates manufacturing costs, determines time standards, and makes recommendations for tooling and process requirements.  Implements changes to improve safety, quality, and reliability. Uses lean principles to eliminate wastes found in the production system.

  • May work with test engineering on the design and development of test fixtures/test processes. Expected to become proficient with testing in order to help troubleshoot failures found during test.

  • Gathers operational and test data to support problem solving activities. Evaluates the results in order to implement data driven solutions.

  • Supports supplier quality efforts by interfacing with suppliers. This may include attending supplier audits or supporting other supplier visits.

  • Proficiency in the following software is a plus: AgileE6, SAP, PTC Creo, Ansys, Smartsheet, Tableau, or other similar software programs.   

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 4-7 years of experience

  • Demonstrated conceptual knowledge and technical experience for everyday problem-solving on the job  

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Solid interpersonal skills—including the ability to clearly explain difficult or sensitive information, and the ability to build consensus

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.

For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
