Boeing is seeking an Experienced Manufacturing Engineer to support National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) program execution at Kennedy Space Center, Florida. This position requires experience supporting NASA programs and the ability to operate in a highly regulated, mission-focused aerospace environment. This position is looking for candidates with proven NASA program experience and strong technical coordination skills in an aerospace operations setting. The selected candidate will support program integration, technical coordination, documentation, production support, and operational execution activities to help ensure safe, compliant, and timely delivery of program objectives. This position is for second or third shift.
Key Responsibilities
  • Support day-to-day program and operational activities within a NASA environment.
  • Coordinate with engineering, operations, safety, quality, and program management teams to ensure alignment on technical and schedule objectives.
  • Assist with requirements management, verification, technical documentation, and configuration control activities.
  • Develop and review plans, procedures, and task documentation in support of program execution.
  • Review and incorporate redlines to technical documents, plans, procedures, and work instructions as required.
  • Provide technical direction and clarification to production technicians and other support personnel during execution activities.
  • Participate in technical interchange meetings, readiness reviews, milestone planning, and program status reviews.
  • Support issue identification, action tracking, risk management, and resolution planning.
  • Develop and implement workarounds as required to maintain schedule and operational continuity while preserving safety and quality.
  • Prepare and deliver accurate status updates, technical assessments, and schedule impacts to stakeholders.
  • Ensure work is performed in accordance with applicable NASA, Boeing, and site-specific processes and standards.
  • Contribute to integration, test, and launch support efforts as required.
  • Work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment with strong emphasis on safety, quality, and mission success.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location. (Flexible hours may be required, including nights, weekends, and holidays, depending on program or mission requirements.)
The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. "US Person" includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
This position requires the ability to obtain access to a National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) facility.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Operations, or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • Associates Level 2: Typically, 2 or more years' related work experience.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience supporting NASA programs or other U.S. spaceflight, launch, or aerospace programs.
  • Experience in one or more of the following disciplines: systems engineering, mission assurance, integration, test, launch operations, or spaceport operations.
  • Demonstrated experience generating plans, procedures, or similar technical execution documentation.
  • Experience reviewing, marking up, or processing redlines to technical documentation, work instructions, or program plans.
  • Experience providing technical directions to production technicians or equivalent shop-floor/operations personnel.
  • Experience developing and implementing workarounds or alternate means of execution in response to technical or operational issues.
  • Experienced with NASA processes, technical review practices, and program execution requirements.
  • Experience supporting a high-tempo launch and operations environment
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required site access and any applicable background screening or security requirements.
  • Ablility to work 2nd or 3rd shift

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Direct experience supporting operations at Kennedy Space Center.
  • Experienced Level 3: Typically, 5 or more years' related work experience.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience supporting NASA programs or other U.S. spaceflight, launch, or aerospace programs.
  • Familiarity with human spaceflight, payload processing, ground support equipment, or launch systems.
  • Experience supporting NASA review boards, readiness reviews, and program milestone events.
  • Experience with configuration management, verification and validation, and risk management processes.
  • Experience with AS9100, ISO, or other aerospace quality systems.
  • Familiarity with schedule integration, program performance reporting, or earned value management.
  • Experience working in a production or launch operations environment where rapid issue resolution is required.
  • Experience working across multi-functional teams in a technically complex environment.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic operational environment
