Vast is looking for a Manufacturing Coordinator, reporting to the Manager, Manufacturing Operations, to support the development of the systems that will be required for the design and build of artificial-gravity human-rated space stations. The perfect candidate will be a self starter who likes challenges and wants to be a part of a growing team!
This will be a full-time, non-exempt position located in our Long Beach location.
Open roles:
- Secondary Structures - This individual will be responsible for working with the Secondary Structures leadership team to ensure that all deadlines are met.
- Fabrication - This individual will support OTW as well as Tube Shop and will be responsible for the completion of all tubes through the OTW shopfloor.
- Integration - This individual will be responsible for tracking delivery of all subassemblies in accordance to the integration schedule.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee, monitor, and facilitate the movement of components throughout the manufacturing process to ensure timely progression through our Vast locations.
- Coordinate the physical transfer of components across various stages including purchasing, receiving inspection, inventory, and relevant work centers.
- Coordinate outside processing of components and liaise with purchasing team to ensure timely delivery.
- Support logistics operations by optimizing workflow staging as necessary.
- Maintain accuracy and integrity of system data in collaboration with Supply Chain, Engineering, and Manufacturing teams to align with demands and schedules.
- Generate and maintain reports highlighting requirements, milestones, and limitations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with schedulers, and managers to fulfill action requirements.
- Communicate effectively and escalate issues promptly across various platforms and to specific stakeholders.
- Escalate issues such as part shortages, purchase order delays, and discrepancies in BOM to relevant departments.
- Collaborate with engineers and the planning team on the release of runs.
- Follow schedules through effective planning and shortage management coordination.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 2+ years in a manufacturing environment.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- 2+ years of experience with MRP/ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.)
- 2+ years of Smartsheet.
- Highly detail oriented and self starter.
- Forklift experience.
Additional Requirements:
- Willingness to work evenings and/or weekends to support critical mission milestones.
- Ability to lift up to 25lbs unassisted.
Pay Ranges:
- L0: $18.00 - $25.00
- L1: $21.00 - $30.00
