Vast is looking for a Manufacturing Coordinator, reporting to the Manager, Manufacturing Operations, to support the development of the systems that will be required for the design and build of artificial-gravity human-rated space stations. The perfect candidate will be a self starter who likes challenges and wants to be a part of a growing team!

This will be a full-time, non-exempt position located in our Long Beach location.

Open roles: 

  • Secondary Structures - This individual will be responsible for working with the Secondary Structures leadership team to ensure that all deadlines are met. 
  • Fabrication  - This individual will support OTW as well as Tube Shop and will be responsible for the completion of all tubes through the OTW shopfloor.
  • Integration - This individual will be responsible for tracking delivery of all subassemblies in accordance to the integration schedule.

Responsibilities: 

  • Oversee, monitor, and facilitate the movement of components throughout the manufacturing process to ensure timely progression through our Vast locations. 
  • Coordinate the physical transfer of components across various stages including purchasing, receiving inspection, inventory, and relevant work centers. 
  • Coordinate outside processing of components and liaise with purchasing team to ensure timely delivery. 
  • Support logistics operations by optimizing workflow staging as necessary. 
  • Maintain accuracy and integrity of system data in collaboration with Supply Chain, Engineering, and Manufacturing teams to align with demands and schedules. 
  • Generate and maintain reports highlighting requirements, milestones, and limitations for internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Collaborate with schedulers, and managers to fulfill action requirements. 
  • Communicate effectively and escalate issues promptly across various platforms and to specific stakeholders. 
  • Escalate issues such as part shortages, purchase order delays, and discrepancies in BOM to relevant departments. 
  • Collaborate with engineers and the planning team on the release of runs. 
  • Follow schedules through effective planning and shortage management coordination.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2+ years in a manufacturing environment. 

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • 2+ years of experience with MRP/ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.) 
  • 2+ years of Smartsheet.
  • Highly detail oriented and self starter.
  • Forklift experience. 

Additional Requirements:

  • Willingness to work evenings and/or weekends to support critical mission milestones.
  • Ability to lift up to 25lbs unassisted.

Pay Ranges: 

  • L0: $18.00 - $25.00
  • L1: $21.00 - $30.00

Salary Range: California

Base salary will vary depending on job-related knowledge, education, skills, experience, business needs, and market demand. Salary is just one component of our comprehensive compensation package.
