Job DescriptionManaging Director, Experian Malaysia Global Development Center (GDC)
Technology plays a key role in delivering Experian's strategic objectives and supporting the development of products and services across global markets.
This role is reporting to the Chief Financial and Operating Officer, Technology & Innovation, the Managing Director will lead the Malaysia-based Global Development Center (GDC), a multi-functional organization supporting multiple regions and business units.
The role is responsible for the strategic direction, operational performance, talent development, and financial management of the GDC, ensuring alignment with business priorities and technology objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Operating Model & Transformation
- Lead the evolution of the GDC operating model to improve scalability, delivery efficiency, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Develop and implement scalable technology solutions that can be deployed across multiple markets.
- Apply established engineering, delivery, and operational practices to support continuous improvement and organizational effectiveness.
- You will drive technology and operational transformation initiatives aligned with business growth objectives.
Engineering Delivery & Quality
- Partner with global business units to support the delivery of technology solutions and services.
- Strengthen integration and collaboration between the GDC and global technology teams.
- Establish governance, processes, and performance measures that support quality, reliability, and consistent delivery outcomes.
- Support technology solutions that meet performance and operational requirements.
Process & Operational Effectiveness
- Evaluate and improve technology, engineering, and operational processes.
- Identify opportunities to reduce duplication, standardize common platforms, and improve efficiency across teams.
- Support sustainable technology development and operational practices aligned with organizational objectives.
- You will ensure technology investments align with customer, business, and market requirements.
Innovation & Technology Strategy
- Drive the development and adoption of reusable platforms, assets, and engineering capabilities.
- Support the creation of cross-functional teams that improve collaboration and reduce delivery dependencies.
- Promote the development, evaluation, and adoption of emerging technologies where they support business outcomes.
- Lead the execution of the GDC technology and engineering strategy in alignment with Experian's global technology strategy.
Leadership & Talent Development
- Lead, develop, and support technology leadership teams across the GDC.
- Partner with Human Resources to support attraction, development, engagement, and retention strategies.
- Foster a culture of learning, professional development, collaboration, and accountability.
- Support workforce planning and capability development to meet current and future business needs.
Risk, Governance & Security
- Strengthen risk management, governance, and operational controls across the GDC.
- Ensure technology solutions align with security, resilience, compliance, and business continuity requirements.
- Monitor and address operational and technology risks.
Stakeholder Management
- Act as a strategic partner to regional and global business leaders.
- Provide insights into GDC capabilities, delivery performance, and strategic opportunities.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders across regions, functions, and business units.
- Align GDC priorities and investments with organizational objectives.
Brand & External Representation
- Represent Experian at industry events, conferences, and external engagements.
- Support initiatives that strengthen awareness of Experian's technology capabilities within the industry and talent market.
- Promote collaboration, accountability, innovation, and customer-focused outcomes across the organization.
Financial Management
- Manage GDC budgets and financial performance.
- Optimize operational spending and resource allocation to support business objectives.
- Ensure technology and operational investments align with business strategy, long-term growth plans, and scalability requirements.
- Maintain appropriate financial governance and accountability across the organization.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field; an MBA is beneficial.
- 15+ years of relevant experience leading software engineering organizations within complex global enterprises, including leadership experience in a Global Technology Center or Global Development Center environment.
- Experience leading large-scale organizational, technology, and operating model transformation initiatives.
- Experience working in dynamic, matrixed organizations with evolving business and technology priorities.
- Experience building, leading, and developing global technology teams across multiple locations and functions.
- Experience partnering with senior leaders and stakeholders across a complex matrix organization to align priorities, drive decisions, and deliver business outcomes.
- Experience communicating and influencing effectively across all organizational levels, including executive leadership teams.
- Experience leading teams across multiple geographies, cultures, and business environments.
- Experience driving innovation, continuous improvement, and organizational change initiatives.
- Experience communicating with and influencing executive leaders, business stakeholders, and technology teams across multiple organizational levels
- Experience leading complex, cross-functional programs and initiatives involving multiple global teams and stakeholders.
