Summary:
Responsible for providing equity research coverage on assigned companies and industries in accordance with regulatory requirements and internal policies. Responsible for maintaining the highest standards of integrity, ethics, and professionalism in all aspects of business conducted within the group.
Responsibilities:
· Provide independent analysis and opinion to investment bankers and institutional clients; develop and communicate opinions clearly, concisely, and accurately.
· Maintain and develop relationships with CEOs/CFOs and other senior management at client companies as well as other industry experts and opinion makers.
· Work closely with sales team members to identify client needs and tailor analysis accordingly.
· Develop new ideas and perspectives on assigned industries and present them to management and institutional clients through various mediums (e.g., email, phone calls, conference calls).
· Participate in client development by leveraging expertise to enhance the firm’s reputation in specific sectors and developing strong working relationships with key decision-makers at client firms.
· Become an industry specialist and thought leader in targeted industries.
· Assist in building and maintaining client franchises.
· Effectively manage multiple assignments while meeting deadlines and adhering to quality standards.
· Adhere to corporate policy regarding personal trading and other compliance issues.
· Attend industry conferences and meetings as required.
· Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
· Typically requires 7+ years of relevant experience in sellside or buy side research or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Requires excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to effectively communicate complex analytical concepts verbally and in writing to both technical and non-technical audiences.
· Proven ability to establish and cultivate effective business relationships with clients, colleagues, subordinates, and supervisors.
· Demonstrated leadership abilities, initiative, and sound judgment.
· Excellent PC skills including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook are essential.
· Series 7, 63 licenses required; CFA designation preferred.
