Company Overview:

At Relativity Space, we have two audacious goals: to build the next great commercial launch company with Terran R and to become America's leading force in additive manufacturing innovation. Both contribute to our long-term vision of creating humanity’s industrial base on Mars, paving the way for interplanetary life to expand the possibilities of the human experience. This journey begins right here on Earth – where we design, build, and fly rockets to deliver customer payloads to orbit. Terran R, our medium-to-heavy lift reusable rocket, fulfills the growing demand for launch capacity, thanks to our iterative approach that accelerates design, testing, and development while minimizing costs. While our groundbreaking research and development in 3D printing pushes the boundaries of large-scale additive manufacturing.

Your journey with us is more than just a job – it’s an opportunity to shape the future of aerospace technology, additive manufacturing, and the human experience alongside a community of passionate, creative individuals. Join us on this extraordinary journey, as we work together to transform our vision into reality.

About the Team:

Supply Chain at Relativity encompasses direct supply management for all Terran-R parts and materials, indirect supply management for the Long Beach site, and materials management.  Put simply, we own the value chain from identification of a need to delivery to our internal customer.  The Supply Chain team’s vision is to build a best-in-class, responsive, and data-driven supply chain management organization that is a key competitive advantage for Relativity.  Supply Chain is currently putting that vision into practice through sourcing long-lead parts, production equipment, and infrastructure projects for Terran R production.  We have had numerous accomplishments with high-dollar, impactful projects by collaborating closely with finance, manufacturing, and engineering to deliver excellent value and keep our aggressive Terran R schedule on track.

We're looking for a Manager, Vehicle Structures Supply Chain to lead the team responsible for all Planning, Sourcing, and Procurement of the Vehicle Structures supply chain for Relativity’s next generation launch vehicle, Terran-R.

About the Role:

  • Lead the team responsible for all Planning, Sourcing, and Procurement of the Vehicle Structures supply chain for Relativity’s next generation launch vehicle, Terran-R, including but not limited to Fairing Assembly, Primary Structures (Stage 1/2, Interstage, Thrust Structure), Secondary Structures (E.g., Brackets, Fittings, Trays, etc.) COTS Hardware (E.g., Fasteners, Seals, Fittings, etc.), and other commodity groups.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Finance to drive strategic value creation to the enterprise.
  • Participate in the development of the Supply Management function, developing tools, processes and procedures that will lay the foundation of the organization’s capabilities.
  • Own supplier relationships and overarching strategy to ensure a supply of conforming products, with an emphasis on affordability and sustainability.
  • Provide leadership and direction to a highly talented team of Global Supply Managers, Material Program Managers, and Global Supply Specialists based in Long Beach (CA).
  • Hire, train, and develop the team to support scaling operations from first launch to full-rate production, demonstrating leadership and team management skills.

About You:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain/Operations Management, or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of working in a supply chain management role responsible for direct materials procurement within a fast-paced manufacturing/operations or technology environment.
  • 3+ years leading a team within the manufacturing industry.
  • Knowledge of supply chain evaluation, performance management, and development.
  • Experience in a New Product Introduction environment for low-volume, high-complexity programs.

Nice to haves but not required:

  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain/Operations Management, or a related discipline.
  • Negotiation & contract management skills.
  • A technical understanding of primary structures & their manufacturing methods (I.e., CNC Machining, forging, casting, composite, etc.) for launch vehicle design, fabrication, and assembly techniques.
  • Experience in enterprise systems (ERP/MRP).

What We Do

A rocket company at the core, Relativity Space is on a mission to become the next great commercial launch company. Terran R, our medium-to-heavy lift reusable launch vehicle, will reliably deliver payloads to orbit on-time and on-budget for customers – meeting the needs of growing demand for space infrastructure. Leveraging the benefits of additive manufacturing to design, test, and iterate at a pace unmatched in the industry, we are changing the way rockets are built and flown.

Our long-term goal is to create humanity’s industrial base on Mars, paving the way for interplanetary life to fundamentally expand the possibilities of the human experience. The first step toward this vision starts here on Earth, by building the next great commercial launch company.

Why Work With Us

For 60 years, aerospace manufacturing has relied on fixed tooling and complex supply chains to slowly build rockets comprised of hundreds of thousands of parts. Leveraging advances in additive manufacturing, Relativity Space is strategically focused on reducing vehicle complexity, cost, and time to market.
