• The EMV & Digital Devices Team is looking for a Manager to drive the design and development of innovative payment solutions testing and evaluation processes, utilizing proven technology platforms. This role involves overseeing EMV Level 1 Testing, which focuses on the physical and electrical interface between cards and terminals, as well as EMV Level 2 Testing, which assesses the application layer to ensure seamless processing of EMV transactions, including cryptographic functions and transaction flows. The ideal candidate is highly motivated, intellectually curious, and analytical, with a strong commitment to create impactful quality assurance and testing solutions on a global scale across diverse domains, including cards, mobiles and more.

Role
• Develop and document comprehensive Level 1 and Level 2 processes, requirements, and tools, for testing card and mobile payment applications.
• Manage activities in your assigned area, planning and driving them through the full development lifecycle.
• Identify opportunities to improve testing methodologies and tools, staying ahead of industry trends.
• Report to the Card Testing Director, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and objectives.
• Manage third-party testing tool qualifications and support laboratory accreditations.
• Contribute to the functional evaluation of payment application prototypes.
• Provide training and technical support to internal teams and external partners on testing tools and processes.
• Ensure testing solutions are aligned with regulatory standards and security best practices.
• Gathering feedback from internal and external stakeholders to optimize testing performance and quality.
• Work closely with the Mastercard Specification team to review new payment standards, ensuring future payment solutions are designed with seamless testing in mind.
• Ambassador for our testing solutions with other Mastercard teams.

• Proven professional experience in software and hardware testing of payment solutions.
• Skilled at translating complex technical concepts into clear and actionable insights tailored to diverse audiences, from senior management to laboratory experts.
• Passionate about technology and embracing this passion into work and hobbies.
• Strong analytical and communication skills (written and verbal).
• Enjoy solving technical challenges and working in a fast-paced evolving industry.
• Knowledge of Level 1 and/or Level 2 card testing (contact and contactless).
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners.
• Independent, goal-oriented, and collaborative in a global team environment.
• Professional experience with testing laboratory methodology standard is a plus.
• Knowledge of payment standards (EMV books 1 to 4, ISO/CEI 7816, ISO/CEI 14443) is a must.
• Knowledge of testing frameworks (e.g. Behavior-driven Development) is a plus.
• Knowledge of Continuous Integration (CI) & Continuous Delivery (CD) tools, and source/version control systems (such as Travis, Azure DevOps, Bamboo or GitHub) is a plus.
• A university degree in computer engineering, or the equivalent through professional experience and/or certification.
• Experience in engaging multiple stakeholders to address complex technical constraints.
• Knowledge of JavaCard, GlobalPlatform, HCE, NFC controller, HCI protocol, APIs...technologies is a plus.
