Job Summary
The jobholder is responsible for managing the Digital Transformation and Technology Risk environment within Absa Bank (Mauritius) Limited, ensuring compliance with relevant Absa policies, standards, and regulatory requirements in line with the Absa Enterprise Risk Management Framework. The role provides independent oversight of the technology control environment by ensuring appropriate controls are in place, their effectiveness is tested and monitored on an ongoing basis, and by delivering a risk focused view on the adequacy and effectiveness of technology controls across the bank.Job Description
Technology Risk and Project Risk Compliance- Responsible for managing Technology Risk and Project Risk across the bank and providing management an impartial and independent view
- Driving all technology risk initiatives both in-country and from regional office
- Ensuring all Digital projects and initiatives are aligned to the project risk policy, applicable standards and appropriate governance is in place
- Ownership of all technology and project risk related assessments and reporting, as may be required, ensuring same is completed accurately and to the required standard and in a timely manner
- Drafting, enhancing and implementing policies, processes and security frameworks across the bank as required
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards, policies and industry best practices
- Ensure appropriate controls are in place across the Absa Mauritius estate
- Ensure regular self-assessment exercises are completed to evidence effectiveness of the controls in place and embedment of processes.
- Ensure all issues/ non compliance are identified and logged using the established process
- Recommending and Implementing improvements to the control environment
- Ensure that processes, control requirements and risk management frameworks that impact the area are understood by all members of the team.
- Represent the Digital Transformation and Technology function in all risk discussions and at all Risk forums, in country as well as at Africa Regions / Absa group level
- First point of contact for all technology audit/assurance exercises (from 1st line, second line, third line as well as External auditors)
- Ensure closure of all audit observations within agreed timelines
- Ensure all services (applications and infrastructure) are periodically assessed, through vulnerability assessments and penetration testing, and all gaps identified are remediated in a timely manner
- Ensure risk events are captured are logged on the strategic platform as per the agreed process and timelines
- Collaborate with risk and control colleagues across the bank for the scoping of policies/initiatives/projects/plans to ensure fair coverage, protection of the bank’s reputation and income and the overall sustainability of the bank
- Owning and managing of third party/vendor risk management issues ensuring compliance to Absa’s standards and policies
- Act as the Digital Transformation & Technology BCM Coordinator vis-à-vis ABML BCM Teams & Business functions and responsible for ITDR/PATS Testing & Remediation as per Group’s Application/Infrastructure Tier and prescribed testing period.
- New Product assessment: Represent Technology Risk in the New Product assessment forum and ensure all key requirements of Technology risk are taken into account and assessed/ implemented as required.
- Responsible for driving own Performance Development, setting yearly KPIs and agreeing with line manager. Also has the responsibility to ensure regular check-ins/ reviews are prepared and arranged for within agreed timelines.
- Responsible for keeping up to date with evolving security trends and undertaking all necessary trainings in order to perform the role to the required standards, including gaining certifications where appropriate
- Responsible for undertaking all necessary trainings in order to align to the strategic direction of ABML and Absa group and ensure effective IT support in line with new technologies
- Degree in computer science or in any Information Technology related fields
- IT Security Certifications (CISA, CISM, CISSP) a definite advantage
- Cloud certifications preferred
- At least 5-6 years experience in IT security, technical or operations role
- Experience in technology risk/security role preferred
- Experience of financial services preferred
- Familiarity with ITIL framework and associated processes
- Familiarity with agile project management styles a distinct advantage
- Ability to interpret the significance of risks and criticality of actions required
- Strong communication, influencing and relationship management skills to ensure effectively collaboration with technical, risk as well as business teams
- Financial management skills including but not limited to preparation of the budget and managing to budget
- High degree of commercial awareness with sound understanding of key contractual obligations and risks

Education
