Job Summary
The overall purpose of the job is to assist in the execution to delivery all finance related reporting and projects in the bank including reporting to efficiency of processes as well as assisting the accountants in their day-to-day activities. The role covers mainly the following:• Assist in preparation of regulatory returns and their submissions
• Preparation of data analytics for all reporting
• Assist in the fixed asset recording and reconciliation
• Preparation of reconciliations in an innovative and user-friendly format
• Assist in the preparation of annual audited report and its schedules
• Assist in both group and statutory reporting on monthly, quarterly, annual and ad-hoc basis
• Support in regulatory efficiency project/s
Job Description
Key accountabilitiesReporting and Analytics- Assist in the preparation of various reports including reconciliation
- Assist in the monthly, quarterly, yearly and ad hoc group reporting deliverables
- Assist in financial control month end activities
- Assist in the fixed assets process with timely capitalization, disposal and analysis of work-in-progess
- Prepare and execute regulatory reporting as well as submission on monthly, weekly, quarterly, annual and ad hoc basis
- Perform month on month trend, year on year trend analysis
- Prepare schedules for statutory audits and disclosures on quarterly and annual basis
- Analyse data and provide accurate information for different stakeholders
- Assist in the regulatory efficiency review and project
- Support any adhoc request iro financial reporting
- Ensure compliance with Group policies, standards and framework
Project management and execution
Assist to track finance related efficiency projects and its deliverables
Assist to compile user’s requirements/concerns
Assist to prepare any deck for the relevant committees
Maintain an excellent understanding of the different systems, processes, and procedures for the project delivery
Assist to update all processes and documentation including user manuals
Assist in the User Acceptance Testing phase
Perform and document the User Acceptance Testing(UAT) for the projects
Projects/Change,Risk and Control
Test and review the Critical Process Assessment(CPA) at least annually
Ensure all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise-Wide Risk Management Framework and Internal Absa Policies and policy standards.
Understand and manage risks and risk events (incidents) relevant to the role
At least ACCA level 2, Degree in Finance or any equivalent
Minimum 3 years work experience in finance or finance project management
Good interpersonal and team-working skills

Education
Bachelor's Degree: Financial SciencesSkills Required
- Bachelor's degree in Financial Sciences or equivalent
- At least ACCA level 2 or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years' experience in finance or finance project management
- Experience preparing regulatory returns, statutory accounts, and financial reporting
- Ability to perform data analytics and work with large-scale data
- Experience preparing accruals, journal entries, reconciliations, and fixed asset reconciliations
- Experience supporting projects, including User Acceptance Testing and documentation
- Knowledge of the financial sector and regulatory frameworks
