Manager, Technical Writing

Clarivate is seeking an experienced Technical Writing Manager to lead a global team of technical writers creating high-quality, customer-facing product documentation.

This role requires expertise in MadCap Flare and Central, exceptional English proficiency, and the ability to collaborate effectively with Product Managers, Engineering, and other stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have strong management skills, a proven ability to drive process improvements, and a passion for delivering clear, impactful user-focused documentation.

About You – experience, education, skills, and accomplishments.

• Bachelor's degree in Technical Communication, English, or a related field, or an equivalent number of years of relevant experience.
• 7+ years of technical writing experience
• Minimum 3 years of experience managing distributed teams across different time zones
• 7 years of experience establishing and optimizing documentation processes
• 4 + years of experience managing documentation for SaaS products
• 4+ years of experience working in MadCap Flare and Central (such as templates, variables, conditional content, single-sourcing and multi-channel publishing) or other modern documentation tools, and familiarity with Git-based workflows
• 4 + years of experience working in an Agile environment
• Superior written and verbal communication skills in English (near-native proficiency)

• A history of implementing successful documentation metrics programs
• Knowledge of emerging technologies like AI tools for content and process optimization

What will you be doing in this role?

• Lead and mentor a team of technical writers, including remote team members across different time zones
• Develop and implement documentation strategies, style guides, and best practices aligned with product goals and user needs, manage resource allocation, scheduling, and workload distribution across the team, monitor user feedback and analytics to continuously improve content usability and effectiveness
• Establish and optimize documentation workflows and processes
• Work closely with Product Managers to prioritize documentation needs and align with product roadmaps
• Build and maintain documentation infrastructure using MadCap Flare and Central
• Drive continuous improvement in documentation quality, efficiency, and user experience
• Drive change by identifying opportunities to enhance documentation workflows through automation or new tools (e.g., leveraging features in MadCap Flare/Central or exploring AI-driven solutions)

Hours of Work

This is a full-time permanent position based in a Clarivate location in Belgrade, Serbia and will require hybrid working (3 days every other week) the rest from home

This position requires weekday attendance with some scheduling flexibility available around core working hours.
