The Role

We’re looking for a Manager of Technical Accounting and SEC Reporting to help drive the technical accounting and SEC reporting processes. 

You’ll be an integral part of the external reporting process by enhancing, implementing, and managing our periodic SEC reporting. You will also be responsible for supporting the team with all accounting policy work: researching, applying the appropriate accounting standards, and documenting accounting conclusions for non-routine transactions.

This is a full-time, hybrid role, based out of our New York City office (2 days a week in-person).

You Will

• Be responsible for managing the preparation and timely completion of SEC quarterly and annual reports (Forms 10-K and 10-Q), as well as other SEC forms (Form 8-K and proxy statement)
• Prepare and / or coordinate with the team on all footnote disclosures, including completing the GAAP and SEC disclosure checklists to ensure compliance with required disclosures
• Perform technical accounting research, and assist in responding to technical accounting inquiries and / or preparation of technical accounting memos supporting significant and / or non-routine transactions
• Monitor new accounting standards and participate in the interpretation, analysis, and documentation of the financial statement impact of any new accounting standards applicable to the company, and work with the team in their implementation
• Assist in the establishment, documentation, and maintenance of accounting policy documentation, including maintenance of documentation for certain SOX financial reporting controls
• Work with Investor Relations on earnings releases / ad-hoc investor materials 
• Act as a liaison with external auditors on matters involving technical accounting, internal controls, financial policies, and SEC reporting
• Prepare audit committee and disclosure committee materials

You Have

• 5+ years of relevant experience, either at a public company or large public accounting firm 
• Strong technical accounting skills regarding US GAAP and knowledge of SEC rules (working knowledge of advertising industry a plus)
• B.S. in Accounting or equivalent experience; CPA required
• Experience researching and documenting support for accounting conclusions
• Strong project management skills to ensure compliance with reporting timeline and prompt delivery of deliverables
• Comfortable working independently as well as collaborating with internal teams at multiple levels in a fast-paced environment
