Job Title

Senior TAX Manager LATAM

São Paulo – at least 4 days in-office (maximum 1 day work from home)

We are seeking an experienced Senior Tax Manager LATAM to be part of a high growth technology and payments company with a solid track record of delivering high value to our customers.

This role is primary responsible for tax provision in US GAAP for Latin America entities (Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, Panama, Puerto Rico, and Uruguay).

In addition, this position is responsible for leading all tax activities of Brazil (tax planning, consulting, and compliance).

LATAM - Tax Accounting

  • Review, assist, and prepare quarterly LATAM tax provision (ASC 740 - US GAAP)
  • Prepare the cash tax payments/refunds reporting.
  • Prepare the quarterly FIN48 reporting.
  • Prepare the quarterly tax audit status reporting.
  • Review tax reports and quarterly/yearly tax projections.
  • Review existing tax accounting and reporting processes and recommend areas of improvement to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
  • Review and advise on tax disclosures in the financial statements of LATAM entities.

Brazil - Tax Planning, Consulting, and Compliance

  • Lead the tax team to ensure all tax returns are accurately and timely filed in compliance with the laws and regulations applicable in Brazil (indirect, direct, and withholding taxes).
  • Provide support with various internal audits and special tax related projects.
  • Lead the development and implementation of the Brazilian companies’ overall tax planning strategy to optimize tax efficiency and minimize the organization's tax liabilities.
  • Conduct thorough analysis of the companies’ operations, transactions, and financial data to identify opportunities for tax savings and planning.
  • Collaborate closely with the accounting, finance, and legal teams to align tax planning with the company's broader business objectives.
  • Manage tax controversy matters, litigation, audits and respond to questions from the tax authorities.
  • Work with the Global Transfer Pricing team and ensure the implementation of approved transfer pricing policies, ensuring proper documentation and execution.
  • Collaborate process improvements and tax optimization initiatives with a focus on tax technology.
  • Stay up to date on the latest changes in Brazilian tax laws, regulations, incentives, and evaluate their impact on the business.
  • Analyze the proposed changes in the Brazilian Tax Reform in detail and assess the impact on the company, and develop a comprehensive implementation plan, encompassing changes to processes, systems, and organizational structure.

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in accounting or law.
  • 10-15 years of experience at a Big 4 accounting firm and/or US companies (USGAPP is a must have).
  • Strongly knowledge of tax provision, corporate tax, and accounting (must have)
  • Ability to effectively collaborate and coordinate with US Tax Provision team, interact with accounting and regional tax team as well as external consultants as necessary.
  • Fluency in English (must have). Fluency in Spanish is a differential.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing a large organization’s tax function and statutory compliance requirements.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrated experience of working collaboratively and influencing across multiple stakeholder groups.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work with limited supervision.
  • An analytical mind, precise, and organized.
  • Team player with an independent approach, and eagerness to meet deadlines and increase efficiency.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent accounting, analytical, and research skills.
  • Good written and oral communication skills in both Portuguese and English.
