Position: Manager Tax Operations
Location: Tampa, Florida
Position Summary
The Manager Tax Operations reports directly to a Senior Manager of Tax and collaborates with our foreign finance groups across Latin America and Puerto Rico. This role is responsible for preparing and reviewing tax compliance and tax reporting by coordinating an external group of consultants that supports the operation.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Oversee the preparation and timely filing of all federal, state, and local tax returns for the multiple foreigner jurisdictions.
- Responsible for all income tax accounting routines, this includes journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Preparation and review of quarterly and annual income tax provisions for foreign entities.
- Support on transfer pricing documentation and legal entity profitability analysis.
- Monitor current international income tax developments and advise management on potential impacts for foreign entities.
- Ensure the accuracy of tax returns, tax provisions and other required reports including retention of documentation supporting tax positions under examination by tax authorities.
- Interacts with the operating company’s personnel, third party advisors and taxing authorities on tax provision, compliance, planning and controversy issues.
- Proactively seeks to streamline compliance process, and to create efficiencies through automation.
- Identifies potential tax compliance issues, performs research, and make recommendations to prevent & resolve tax issues.
- Learn the organization’s business and contribute to problem resolution when issues identified.
- Support the Sr Manager on potential ways to optimize tax processes and sets up compliance procedures.
- Build a strong networking across global tax, finance, customs, treasury and legal.
- Be current with changes in tax laws that could impact the Company’s operations.
Main Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Tax, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in public accounting and/or a multinational.
- Strong technical skills in accounting, tax returns preparation and review within the international taxation environment
- Desirable knowledgeable in Puerto Rico and Latam tax environment.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Team player with good collaborative skills who is confident in communicating with others and can work with minimal supervision.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Navigate the complexities of cross-border and/or diverse teams and engagements.
- knowledge of OneSource Provision (TaxStream), SharePoint, Excel along with other Microsoft Office products, and SAP.
- Spanish communication would be a plus.
