The Private Wealth team is a department of its own within UMB to help our clients plan and create financial and investment plans for their assets. Within the Private Wealth environment, this team interacts with UMB’s high net worth clients in providing resolutions and solutions to clients and their investment needs. With our robust training to provide extensive UMB and financial knowledge, the Private Wealth team provides investment education and problem-solving solutions for our clients. The Private Wealth team is made up Portfolio Managers, Trust Advisors, Wealth Advisors, and Investment Analysts. These associates each have a specific and impactful function for our clients and their assets. The employees of the Private Wealth team are subject matter experts that assist in resolving client issues, deepening client relationships and gaining new business for the company.
Working as the Manager of Tax and Accounting Services, you will be overseeing a team of Tax Associates, managing tax and accounting services for the Private Wealth Management Division. You will help develop, oversee, and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with fiduciary income tax, estate and gift tax Generations Skipping Transfer and other tax information reporting. Over time, you will help manage the changes to ensure associates adopt best practices and are kept informed of pertinent changes to tax laws. You will help to document, deliver and enforce sufficient controls to prevent errors. You will review tax returns and/or accounting deliverables while assuming primary responsibilities for client engagements, including identifying and addressing problem areas with minimal oversight and assistance. Growth is important, you will help promote our servicing contributing to publications, conducting trainings, help grow and deepen relationship through your expert tax experience and advice. You will have responsibility for the day to day management of any 3rd party consultants, vendors and resources related to the delivery of tax returns and/or accounting services. You will help with the overall education by understanding the business needs and anticipating value-added services and experiences Private Wealth Management can leverage for the client experience. You will provide regular updates to the leadership team on the status, risks, and interdependencies of all in-flight tax projects and accounting projects.

You have a Master's degree in a relevant field or a CPA designation.
You have 7 years of applicable experience.
You have 1 to 2 years of demonstrated tax leadership experience, ideally within a Wealth Management institution.
Or, a combination of education and experience that provides an equivalent background.
Compensation Range:
$83,200.00 - $178,800.00The posted compensation range on this listing represents UMB’s standard for this role, but the actual compensation may vary by geographic location, experience level, and other job-related factors.
