The Opportunity:

The Manager, Strategic PMO leads the efforts of their team to implement and support projects/programs. As a Leader, they will be responsible for directing, influencing and inspiring team members to deliver superior results in the management of corporate programs and projects. The SPMO Manager forecasts resource utilization and defines organizational capacity to support requested projects/programs. This role assists their team in resolving issues impacting successful completion of assigned projects/programs. They will ensure projects and programs are completed based upon the company’s Project Management Methodology and established business priorities.

Day in the Life:

  • Direct team to ensure approved projects/programs are completed on-time, in-scope and on-budget and business needs are met.
  • Forecast resource utilization and capacity to achieve optimal staffing ratios and workflows within Project Management team.
  • Mentor PMs in evaluation of project/program to determine functional and staff resources required to accomplish the project/program deliverables, and the suggested project team structure as well as project plans and milestones.
  • Monitor the progress of all project/programs and assist in the resolution of issues and delays impacting successful delivery of the project or program.
  • Communicate with senior staff the status of requested project/program on a regular basis.
  • Audit projects/programs to determine variations from established processes and identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Lead complex projects that generally have been assigned a medium to high corporate priority, have a significant budget(s), and are higher risk.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Provide direction and leadership to staff; guide, coach, mentor and develop staff ensuring compliance with processes and procedures
  • Handle interviewing, hiring, promotions, transfers, performance appraisals, compensation, counseling and termination of staff
  • Develop and maintain staff by applying the necessary training and leadership that will allow internal growth and advancement
  • Direct staff, to ensure that all duties are performed according to department performance standards

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in systems, Business Management, or equivalent combination of education and experience required. PMP certification preferred.
  • Seven (7) years project management experience required.
  • Three (3) years of Resource Management required.
  • Five (5) years of Project Management Office experience required.
  • Five (5) years of managing technology-based projects required.
  • Experience in financial services, card payments, banking, contact center, new product development, information technology or process re-engineering preferred.
  • Experience with Strategic Project Management tools (MS Project preferred)
  • Demonstrate behaviors based on company values.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments, work in fast-paced environment, and meet deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with ability to gain consensus through mediation, find innovative solutions to challenges, and identify issues and provide potential solutions
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats and present to all levels of management
  • Possess strong leadership and problem-solving skills and have the ability to negotiate with and influence others across all organizational levels
  • Demonstrate excellent analytical and quantitative skills
  • Ability to exercise discretion and good judgment in making decisions
  • Proficiency in project management, Microsoft Project, Visio, word processing, and spreadsheet computer software applications
  • Ability to maintain composure and focus in difficult situations; effectively resolve conflicts and resolve issues without emotion

Pay Equity

$117,000.00

to

$152,100.00

Actual Pay will be adjusted based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
