Since our founding in 1984, we have applied our insight and experience to organically expand into several asset classes including private equity, credit, public equity, venture capital and real estate. This team is responsible for raising new funds and accounts, supporting existing investors, collateral production, and reporting across the Firm’s strategies.

Bain Capital STRATEGIC CAPITAL GROUP

The Strategic Capital Group (SCG), which sits within Bain Capital’s Investor Relations team, launched in 2023 to serve as a dedicate resource to manage all non-fund related activities across the Firm. Today, these activities consist primarily of LP coinvestments, and also include transactions such as GP-led secondaries (e.g., continuation vehicles), minority sales, and liquidity solutions. The core goals for the SCG team are to deepen and manage relationships with direct investment and secondary professionals across our LP base and engage with Bain Capital investment teams on alternative capital solutions opportunities. This is a lean, nimble, and entrepreneurial team at Bain Capital.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Manager will support the senior SCG team in all areas of day-to-day transaction oversight, including:

  • Creating materials for, managing, and executing investor engagements
  • Drafting SCG investment memos and meeting notes
  • Coordinating calls between LPs and our investment teams
  • Responding to and managing diligence requests
  • Interacting with deal teams on day-to-day transaction updates
  • Ability to step in for SCG coverage team on calls and meeting, as needed

The Manager will also support the senior SCG team in broader LP-related engagements, including:

  • Creating internal collateral for LP meetings (both qualitative and quantitative)
  • Tracking and analyzing LP feedback to help build and maintain holistic LP profiles and think through account planning strategies
  • Working alongside the broader investor relations coverage team to create analyses and address LP fund-related diligence requests related to SCG activities

This is an investment-oriented role, and the Manager will be expected to understand transactions from an investor mindset. A successful Manager is a results-oriented individual who can work independently, under time constraints, and consistently produce accurate and timely deliverables.
