We are looking for an experienced and driven leader, with great energy, passion and initiative to manage a highly motivated Pre-Sales Solutions Architecture team.

MongoDB Pre-Sales Solution Architects partner with the rest of the go to market team to help our customers craft and build solutions to address their business needs. Our team is made up of top-tier software architects, entrepreneurs, and developers who take direct responsibility for customer success. As an integral component of the sales team, they help shoulder the responsibility of generating revenue, by strategically interfacing with the customer and becoming the trusted advisor. 

As a leader in Pre-Sales Solutions Architecture, you will cultivate a stellar team. You will partner closely with our sales counterparts to define, improve and execute our sales initiatives in the enterprise market.  You will be integral  to driving the business forward, by developing  both our pre-sales and sales practices and by bringing the voice of experience.

We are looking to speak to candidates who are based in Beijing or Shanghai, China for our hybrid working model.

Candidate Profile
  • At least 4 years of expertise in pre-sales, showcasing a proven capacity to impact revenue, grow strategic accounts, and navigate complex enterprise sales cycles
  • 2+ years Management experience, ideally managing distributed pre-sales teams
  • Deep knowledge of cloud, data, and AI landscapes, including competitor strategies, partner networks, and emerging market shifts
  • Substantial background engaging key industries such as SaaS, FinTech, artificial intelligence, or advanced manufacturing
  • Strong communication and storytelling abilities, with the presence to influence C-suite executives and stakeholders alike
  • Driven – you possess a strong desire to be successful
  • Disciplined – you are skilled in managing time and resources and have a sound approach to technically qualifying opportunities
  • Intelligent – you possess an aptitude to learn quickly and establish credibility
  • Database industry background a plus
  • Software development background a plus
  • The ability to travel up to 20%
  • Bachelor’s degree or comparable professional experience
Position Expectations
  • Act as a strategic co-owner of regional business results alongside sales leadership and account executives
  • Leverage technical and market intelligence to prioritize high-value prospects and optimize resource allocation
  • Recruit, retain, and develop top pre-sales talent
  • Guide the presales team through rigorous discovery, stakeholder engagement, and mutual action planning to accelerate deals
  • Foster strong and effective relationships & champions with customers, resulting in growth opportunities
  • Work closely with the Customer Success & Professional Services teams to achieve customer satisfaction and with Marketing to conduct seminars, trade shows and other marketing related events
  • Coach the team to exceed monthly, quarterly and annual bookings objectives
