A Little About the Role

As a Manager of Software Engineering, you will lead a team that creates and supports enterprise software solutions for API partners and web clients. As part of this hands-on leadership role, you will develop a team of software engineers to maintain existing and develop new services supporting payments, customer maintenance, and reporting functionality for both internal and external customers. You understand that to best serve our customers, we must be a world-class organization employing best practices for engineering and operations. You will be part of both evolving our current products and platforms and helping optimize our cloud infrastructure for stability.

 What You Will Do

  • Provide market leading solutions that are scalable, reliable, and desirable to our customers
  • Manage a team of mixed-discipline engineers: software, site reliability, and quality assurance automation
  • Coach engineers through their career growth
  • Guide product functionality and upcoming additions and enhancements across technologies/platforms
  • As necessary, contribute to the development of projects both internally and externally
  • Coordinate and usher work items through the team workflow
  • Guide coordination with other teams
  • Maintain up to date on industry and company patterns, practices, and tools making recommendations to enhance team and company adoption
  • Lead architectural discussions, both physical and logical
  • Collaborate with the Product Managers including creating prototypes to validate viability
  • As necessary, lead projects
  • Maintain a strong understanding of the payments business domain

Our Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • 2+ years' of demonstrated leadership skills
  • The ability to guide a team in all aspects of the life cycle including design, development, testing, and monitoring of work products
  • 5+ years' of engineering experience, primarily with .NET - ASP.NET Core preferred
  • 1+ years' of payments related business domain experience
  • Extensive experience building RESTful APIs and microservices for internal and external use with C# or Java
  • 1+ years' of Cloud experience, preferably with AWS
  • Demonstrated knowledge of RDBMS, preferably Microsoft SQL Server, and document datastores, preferably DynamoDB and MongoDB/DocumentDB
  • Experience using data for decision-making related to team and system performance, rely heavily on telemetry and monitoring 
  • Experience and passion for developing and releasing products – from inception to delivery and ongoing maintenance
  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience with working closely with Product Management teams to drive roadmap features and releases across multiple teams
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and inter-personal skills leading to the ability to work with teams across multiple geographic locations

Salary

$130,000-$160,000/year DOE
