AlertMedia is looking for a Manager, Software Engineering to lead our third-party integrations team and serve as the Site Manager for our new office in Mexico City. This dual role requires a combination of technical expertise, leadership skills, and operational management to establish our presence in Mexico. The ideal candidate will be passionate about software development, possess strong project management skills, and be capable of fostering a collaborative and productive work environment. Strong technical abilities are vital for success, and you must have a passion for innovative software development with a willingness to roll up your sleeves to collaborate with other Engineering teams.

You thrive in a collaborative engineering environment that plays to everyone's strengths with a willingness to work across the entire stack. You have a strong technical background, with hands-on experience in software development and a deep understanding of API integrations and cloud services. Ideally, you have Python and AWS experience, but more importantly, you care about the quality of your work, the impactful product you help build, and the team you help build it with. You have a deep understanding of the business and cultural environment in Mexico City, and you are excited about establishing our presence there.

What you will do:

  • Become an expert in the AlertMedia platform and tools, and its uses for our customers 
  • Oversee the design, development, and deployment of third-party integrations, primarily with Travel Management Systems 
  • Manage the professional development and technical direction for a team of engineers 
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product management and customer support, to deliver and support seamless integrations
  • Engage in active coding and technical problem-solving in Python, Django, Next.js, React, Node and other web technologies to ensure high-quality integrations
  • Work in an Agile based environment using tools like Git, JIRA, Jenkins, and Slack
  • Use strong verbal and written communication skills in collaboration with other teams across the organization
  • Lead the setup and operational management of the Mexico City office, including infrastructure, facilities, and administrative processes
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the Mexico City office, ensuring alignment with the company’s overall goals and policies
  • Ensure the office operates smoothly and efficiently, addressing any issues that arise promptly
  • Contribute to AlertMedia’s culture, values and vision for the future 

What you bring to the role: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field preferred
  • Experience leading and managing a team of engineers  
  • 5+ years of experience building scalable applications with modern frameworks, such as React, Django, and Node, including experience with third-party integrations
  • Experience with Amazon AWS  
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage working on multiple projects in parallel
  • Experience managing a remote office
  • The ability and desire to work in a fast-paced challenging environment
  • English proficiency both oral and written is required
  • This is a hybrid position (2-3 days a week) in our prime offices in the Reforma area of Mexico City where you’ll get to collaborate with our engineering team
