Role:
- Formally supervises, coaches, and develops a work group/team
- Complies with goal setting and performance appraisal process
- Monitors objectives and drive performance of the team.
- Provides strategic leadership related to specific applications and systems, or software-development methodologies
- Ensure quality of one or more application codebases and alignment with development standards.
- Applies technical capabilities within own discipline to coach and develop junior employees.
- Researching and evaluating tools to support domain-specific needs. Also assists in vendor assessment and selection process.
- Partners with Domain Owners and P&E Payment Networks team to identify innovative solutions and drive strategic decisions.
- Designs highly complex applications, interfaces and integration with a modest number of systems.
- Responsible for performance engineering of the enterprise software architecture, and providing functional guidance, advice, and/or training to other application developers.
- Group-wide and external public speaking and other communications conveying domain level directions
- Significant advanced code development, commitment of code/review of pull-requests, and extensive day-to-day support duties.
- Embraces and champions use of AI across the group.
All About You:
- Proven experience leading all aspects of technology solutions delivery, from definition through operations/run.
- Must have People Management experience 2-3 years and should have leadership qualities
- 8+ years of experience in product/framework/tools development, upgrades, and production support for defects, vulnerability fixes, compliance & migrations
- 5+ years of experience with multiple diverse (cross functional) teams, working ability with strong matrix organization, experience conducting formal performance reviews
- Understanding of and advanced experience with Software Engineering Concepts and Methodologies.
- Engineering experience, preferably in high volume, low latency transaction processing systems (such as payments transaction switching, high frequency trading systems or global real-time event streaming systems etc.)
- Experience with various coding languages Java, Go, C++,ESQL, etc.
- Delivered scalable products through a CI/CD pipeline deploying on-prem or in a public cloud infrastructure.
- Strong writing and verbal communication skills
Preferred Skills:
- Experienced in event driven systems (Apache Kafka, NATS, etc)
- Experienced in building platforms with Microservice architecture and RESTful APIs.
- Experience using cloud-native approaches running on Linux, leveraging Spring Boot
- Experience with virtualization like Cloud Foundry(PCF), Kubernetes (PKS), Docker etc.
- Experience in CI/CD pipeline creation via Jenkins
- Exposure to AI assisted development processes
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Computer Science

In line with Mastercard's total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role. The base salary offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
