Overview
Leads a team of software engineers delivering enterprise integration solutions across cloud-based platforms while remaining hands-on in Core Java development, software architecture, automation, and delivery. Provides technical leadership while actively contributing to complex engineering initiatives, including Java application development, automation strategy, test automation frameworks, and scalable solution delivery. Drives large-scale initiatives and ensures high-quality, secure, reliable, and automated software delivery aligned to business priorities. Shapes engineering strategy, fosters an enterprise mindset, and leads teams through complexity and change while maintaining a strong focus on execution and customer outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing engineering team while actively contributing to technical solutions and engineering delivery
Drive end-to-end delivery of complex integration and full-stack engineering initiatives through hands-on development, technical guidance, and collaboration with engineering teams
Design, develop, and enhance scalable software solutions across cloud-based platforms, including integration and automation capabilities
Manage configuration and integration of cloud-based applications across the enterprise
Provide hands-on technical leadership in architecture (microservices, APIs, scalable design) and system design decisions
Design, implement, and improve automation frameworks and testing solutions to increase efficiency, reliability, and software quality
Drive automation throughout the software development lifecycle, including testing strategy, execution, validation, and continuous improvement
Oversee execution of projects, balancing scope, timeline, quality, and technical excellence
Ensure adherence to enterprise standards including secure coding, testing, automation, and operational best practices
Review and contribute to technical designs, code, configurations, and automation solutions
Partner with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions
Drive quality through strong testing strategy, automation, code reviews, and performance validation
Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, automation, reliability, and engineering excellence
Apply strong software engineering fundamentals, including data structures and design principles, to develop scalable and maintainable solutions
Shape and communicate the engineering vision and roadmap, aligning technology investments and team priorities with enterprise and customer outcomes
Foster an enterprise mindset by connecting engineering initiatives and team objectives to broader business goals and customer impact
Navigate ambiguity and complex technical challenges by creating clarity, aligning stakeholders, and driving informed technical and business decisions
Lead organizational and technical change initiatives, driving adoption of new technologies, modern engineering practices, and continuous improvement efforts across the team
Required Skills
Strong software design and architecture experience (microservices, APIs, scalable systems)
Strong Core Java experience
Deep familiarity with test automation frameworks and modern automated testing practices
Strong understanding of test strategy and design, including defining coverage, test cases, and quality metrics
Strong understanding of automation architecture, including framework design, scalability, and maintainability
End-to-end understanding of the testing lifecycle, from planning and design through execution, defect management, and release validation
Exposure to AI concepts or tools, with the ability to understand and apply AI within a software testing or engineering context
Deep knowledge of software development, testing (unit, functional, integration), and performance engineering
Experience with secure coding practices and code quality standards
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Ability to design systems with operability, monitoring, reliability, and maintainability in mind
Strong understanding of data structures, software engineering principles, and scalable application design
Leadership & Experience
Proven experience leading and mentoring software engineering teams while maintaining hands-on technical expertise
Track record delivering large, complex technical solutions in agile environments
Experience contributing to software development, automation, architecture, and engineering best practices
Strong cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management skills
Ability to drive continuous improvement and engineering excellence
Experience defining technical strategy and translating long-term business objectives into scalable engineering roadmaps
Proven ability to influence across organizations, build alignment among diverse stakeholders, and drive outcomes in complex environments
Demonstrated success leading technical and organizational change while fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement
Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).

In line with Mastercard's total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role. The base salary offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Mastercard benefits for full time (and certain part time) employees generally include: insurance (including medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, disability, life insurance); flexible spending account and health savings account; paid leaves (including 16 weeks of new parent leave and up to 20 days of bereavement leave); 80 hours of Paid Sick and Safe Time, 25 days of vacation time and 5 personal days, pro-rated based on date of hire; 10 annual paid U.S. observed holidays; 401k with a best-in-class company match; deferred compensation for eligible roles; fitness reimbursement or on-site fitness facilities; eligibility for tuition reimbursement; and many more.
