Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems (NGAS) has an opening for a Manager Software Engineering 2 (S02) position. This is a vital position to the program in support of flight/mission critical software/system integration. Candidate will work under only general direction, independently determines and develops approaches to solutions supporting the program needs. Candidate will act as a liaison from time to time with frequent inter-organizational and outside customer contacts. The Candidate shall be willing to travel to other sites to support TIMs, integration efforts, and other software related tasking. The Candidate shall also be willing to adjust work schedule to meet the needs of across the nation as required. This position will be filled in Melbourne, FL.
Essential Functions:
- Conducting performance assessments, staffing, employee development, communication meetings, disciplinary actions, compensation adjustments, training & educational oversight/ approval, and other routine personnel issues.
- Support the integration of system/software in Apex labs as a member of a team employing AGILE-focused processes
- Provide technical solutions to a wide range of complex difficult problems that are imaginative, thorough, practicable, and consistent with programs objectives
- In depth understanding and wide application of technical principle, theories, and concepts in the field listed under the basic qualifications
- Conduct multidisciplinary research when needed and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers
- Follows and ensures software standards are met.
- Supports the Integrated Product Team (IPT) lead
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 9 years of related engineering experience OR Master’s Degree with 7 years of software engineering experience.
- Experience integrating software in multiple environments from Software Engineering Labs through Flight Test
- Experience Troubleshooting software bugs/issues
- Your ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated U.S. government Secret clearance (must be in-scope or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation) and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the Company.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience on a program that delivers periodic releases in a process-driven environment for a government customer
- Previous experience on a medium-to-large program, with a focus on vehicle management systems
- Atlassian Suite (Jira, Confluence, etc.) knowledge
- Experience developing BOEs and supporting IFC planning is a plus
- Lead or management experience in a team environment
- Demonstrated leadership of engineering personnel on a Northrop Grumman Corporation program

Primary Level Salary Range: $139,100.00 - $208,700.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
