Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is looking to add a Software Engineering Manager 2 – Cost Account Manager (CAM) to join our team in Melbourne, FL.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the cost accounts for the Mission Software team as well as leading a functional homeroom team of approximately 10 individuals. The successful candidate will have full responsibility for the full cost account lifecycle including managing EAC, risks, change board packages, rolling waves, presenting to leadership and other CAM activities. The candidate will also be responsible for functional homeroom duties including staffing, mentoring and training a department. This position reports to the Mission Software Department.
The selected candidate will be required to work full-time, on-site at our facility. There is no remote / hybrid / telework available for this position. An occasional travel requirement up to 10% may be needed. The candidate should be a self-starter with familiarity working in an Integrated Product Team construct.

Job Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:
- Managing EAC workbooks, cost health checks, variances and other monthly CAM activities.
- New business acquisition, proposal, and special projects support
- Support Functional Engineering initiatives
- Assist with staff workload forecast preparation
- Acquire the necessary computers, equipment, and tools to enable the team to accomplish their assigned job
- Mentor Engineers on all phases of the Program
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Supports the software department, software center, and software sector in their day-to-day activities
Basic Qualifications
- Must have a Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) field AND 9 years of related professional/military experience that includes a background in software development, OR a Master’s degree AND 7 years of related professional/military experience that includes a background in software development.
- Prior experience in a leadership capacity using agile development, including participating as Product Owner, SCRUM Master, and/or team member in an Agile development environment.
- Experience with the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Experience with Agile software development, object-oriented architecture and programming, software integration and testing.
- Experience with at least two of the following programming or scripting languages: Java, Python, C++, C.
- Experience with Excel spreadsheet macros
- Prior experience with cost account management.
- Active in-Scope, U.S Government Secret clearance.
- Ability to obtain and maintain initial Special Program Access (SAP/PAR). This SAP/PAR must be obtained prior to commencement of employment and must be obtained within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs.

- Current approved PAR to applicable program
- An advanced degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other STEM discipline.
- Advanced technical management degree.
- Prior experience in engineering functional management is a plus.
- Proven leadership qualities and strong interpersonal skills.
- Previous experience leading a team of 5-12 employees with a record of on-time performance
- Previous experience in developing proposal inputs (task descriptions and basis of estimate)
- Time management and organizational skills to prioritize across concurrent program and functional responsibilities.
