About the team and the role:The Payments Platform team at eBay is dedicated to improving the financial interactions of our vast global community. As a Payment Platform Manager Software Development Engineer 2 located in Bangalore, you will lead a dynamic engineering team consisting of full-stack engineers, Android, iOS, web developers, and backend engineers. You will lead all aspects of the development and integration of innovative payment solutions, contributing to eBay's expansion and user satisfaction. Reporting to senior management, you'll provide strategic insights on technical direction and implementation.What you will accomplish:- Spearhead the development and deployment of robust applications across diverse platforms, ensuring reliability and scalability.
- Foster collaboration and integration among full-stack, Android, iOS, web, and backend engineers to bring delightful experience to ebay users.
- Drive innovation to enhance the eBay Payments experience, affecting millions of users worldwide.
- Implement strategic technical frameworks to refine engineering practices organization-wide.
- Mentor team members to champion career growth, focusing on effective leadership and remote management.
- Cultivate a culture of excellence, emphasizing superior coding standards and comprehensive code reviews across teams.
- Over three years of experience leading full-stack software development teams, particularly those building Android and iOS applications.
- Proven expertise in managing technical teams within the payments or financial services sector, focused on fostering innovation.
- Proficiency in diverse software development technologies, including microservice architectures suited for cloud environments.
- Strong analytical skills and effective communication capabilities to engage with both technical and non-technical teams.
- Familiarity with networking, security, database design, and the establishment of CI/CD pipelines.
- A Master’s degree or equivalent experience with substantial hands-on experience in software development and team management. Where applicable, knowledge of agile environments is preferred.
