Netflix is one of the world's leading entertainment services, with over 300 million paid memberships in over 190 countries enjoying TV series, films and games across a wide variety of genres and languages. Members can play, pause and resume watching as much as they want, anytime, anywhere, and can change their plans at any time.
This is not just a community manager role.
This is not about posting calendars and managing handles.
This is internet marketing at a cultural scale.
We're looking for a cultural operator. A conversation hacker. A genuine content obsessive. Someone who understands the Indian internet deeply, watches everything, and knows how to turn moments into movements. You're as creative as you are analytical — as comfortable pitching a wild idea as you are reading a content slate and knowing exactly which title deserves the internet's attention this week. Loves content coming from different regions in India - Hindi and South. Social at Netflix is a growth engine, an intelligence system, and a brand love machine. If you can balance instinct with insight and culture with craft, this is your playground.
The Mandate
Grow and nurture the most engaged OTT community in India.
Drive always-on cultural presence beyond Title launches
Ensure Netflix India consistently leads monthly share of voice and shapes how titles travel across press and KOL ecosystems.
Mine real-time audience feedback, sentiment, and heat signals.
Identify breakout moments early and course-correct underperformance fast.
Represent the audience voice in internal forums and influence marketing pivots.
You are both a cultural antenna and a performance radar.
Build Brand Love Through Culture
Show up meaningfully across festivals, cultural flashpoints, and everyday usage moments.
Create and scale social IP that reinforces Netflix's personality.
Work with creators for relevance and credibility, not transactional reach.
Bring a programmer's instinct to social — know which stories, scenes, and moments from our slate are worth amplifying, and when, across a title's entire lifecycle.
Work closely with internal teams and marcomms partners to ensure strong ownership on campaigns; align with cross-functional efforts led by Content, Brand, FSM, Publicity, Comms, Product, Partnerships and other teams.
Co-own tentpole brand beats across the year.
Own reactive excellence and boosting strategy to maximize cultural impact.
Recognize that the next wave of growth sits beyond metro-heavy legacy communities.
Partner with creators, collaborators, and ecosystem players to widen footprint.
Who You Are
8 to 10+ years of experience in social marketing, having worked in the entertainment industry, network/studio marketing, global lifestyle / digital-first brands, or a creative agency (experience in the entertainment category preferred).
Deep fluency in Indian internet behavior across cohorts and regions.
A genuinely creative mind — someone who concepts, not just executes; who pitches ideas that make a room go quiet.
Real content programming instincts — you read a slate, know how to sequence conversation around a title's lifecycle, and can spot what's culturally primed to travel before anyone else does.
An obsessive, personal love of content — you watch everything, have opinions on everything, and that excitement shows up in the work.
Able to balance creative instinct with data-led decision making.
Comfortable operating in ambiguity with high ownership.
Strong narrative thinker who understands how social shapes perception.
Why This Role Matters
At Netflix India, social does not amplify culture. It actively shapes it.
You will influence what trends, what headlines travel, how fandoms form, and how Netflix shows up in everyday conversation across India.
If you want to build cultural momentum, not just manage feeds, we would love to hear from you.
Inclusion is a Netflix value and we strive to host a meaningful interview experience for all candidates. If you want an accommodation/adjustment for a disability or any other reason during the hiring process, please send a request to your recruiting partner.
We are an equal-opportunity employer and celebrate diversity, recognizing that diversity builds stronger teams. We approach diversity and inclusion seriously and thoughtfully. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, ancestry, national origin, caste, sex, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity or expression, age, disability, medical condition, pregnancy, genetic makeup, marital status, or military service.
