Maintaining a presence in European markets is critical for CBA as it provides the global capability and connectivity required to build a better Australia. CBA NV acts as the European gateway to Australia and New Zealand for investment and bilateral trade.
Credit Risk Management (CRM) is part of the Risk Management function of CBA NV. CRM provides independent credit risk assessment and oversight, reporting, policy development and regulatory governance to CBA NV.
To support the demand and future growth of the IB&M Strategy we are looking for a seasoned credit risk officer with experience in the European market who can combine strong credit analysis experience with great stakeholder management skills building relationships in the first line. (Experience in Europe and living in or moving to the Netherlands is required).
Do work that matters:
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Independent credit risk management and oversight of the relevant segments of the CBA NV risk portfolio that aligns with experience/ skillset.
- Line 1 relationship management including clear and effective communication channels, provision of credit and risk appetite guidance and access to broader CBA risk network.
- Perform/ supervise performance of annual/ ad-hoc credit reviews, limit increase requests, breach management, on-boarding, client due diligence and contributions to committees and/ or other fora.
- Advise senior CRM on transactional and/ or portfolio risk concerns including industry dynamics; provide recommendations to ensure that credit risks are identified, managed, measured, monitored, and properly reported. Supports senior CRM in establishing risk tolerance limits and developing risk management standards consistent with industry standards and regulatory obligations. Exercise sound judgment/ make high quality credit risk decisions in line with delegated personal credit approval authority; and
- Contribute to the development of quantitative and analytical risk metrics, methods and reports to manage, measure, and monitor global risk exposures. Complete high quality credit risk analysis and submissions.
We are interested in hearing from you if you have:
- A genuine interest in corporate lending and financial markets. Demonstrable ability to work autonomously, individually and as part of team.
- 7+ years experience in credit risk, assessing new transactions and portfolio management within the European markets, preferably in a Line 2 function having exercised a meaningful personal credit approval authority.
- Advanced understanding of derivative and European loan/ lending products, preferably with related industry knowledge across one or more of the following sectors: Natural Resources and Energy; Food, Beverages and Agriculture; or European Non-Bank Financial Institutions.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and an ability to deal with a range of senior internal and external stakeholders.
- Comfortable with managing multiple priorities and deadlines with strong attention to detail and good analytics skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; and
