About the role.
The Manager, Manufacturing Technology SCA plays a critical role in McCain's Relentless Cost Out (RCO) program, a key component of the Sustainable Cost Advantage (SCA) transformation focused on delivering significant value through 2030. This role is responsible for identifying, validating, and scaling manufacturing technologies that drive sustainable cost improvements while protecting safety, quality, and service.
Working across the end-to-end manufacturing process, the successful candidate will lead the development and deployment of AI-enabled vision systems, inspection technologies, automation solutions, and data-driven manufacturing improvements. This individual will partner with Manufacturing, Engineering, Digital, R&D, Finance, and regional teams to transform high-value opportunities into practical, scalable solutions that deliver measurable business results.
What you'll be doing.
  • Develop and maintain a manufacturing technology roadmap aligned with RCO priorities and business objectives.
  • Identify high-value opportunities using process data, loss analysis, and operational insights across manufacturing operations.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and external partners, prioritizing investment opportunities based on value and scalability.
  • Lead manufacturing technology programs from concept development through plant trials, validation, industrialization, and multi-site deployment.
  • Drive AI, computer vision, automation, and digital manufacturing initiatives that improve quality, yield, process performance, and operational decision-making.
  • Build and present business cases that connect technical outcomes to financial value, investment requirements, and return on investment.
  • Partner with Finance and SCA teams to establish baselines, validate benefits, and track realized value.
  • Provide disciplined project and program leadership, including governance, budgeting, risk management, and stakeholder alignment.
  • Coordinate implementation activities across plants, production schedules, capital projects, and operational readiness requirements.
  • Influence cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders to align priorities, accelerate adoption, and sustain long-term results.
  • Share standards, best practices, and lessons learned to strengthen manufacturing technology capabilities across the organization.

What you'll need to be successful.
  • Engineering degree or related technical education with meaningful experience in manufacturing, process engineering, or operational improvement.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and unit operations, including the impact of equipment and process conditions on cost, quality, yield, and throughput.
  • Proven ability to identify process losses, evaluate technical solutions, and implement practical manufacturing improvements.
  • Experience leading projects and programs from concept through implementation and sustained operational results.
  • Strong analytical capabilities with the ability to leverage operational, technical, and financial data to support decision-making.
  • Experience developing business cases and evaluating investment opportunities.
  • Excellent project and program management skills with the ability to manage priorities, risks, budgets, and external partners.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with demonstrated success influencing across a matrixed organization.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%, including international travel outside North America.
  • Experience with AI-enabled vision systems, automation, digital manufacturing, or advanced process technologies preferred.
  • Food manufacturing experience or experience supporting multiple production operations and plant environments preferred.
  • Experience working across regional or global teams preferred.

The Manufacturing Technology SCA team is responsible for advancing McCain's Sustainable Cost Advantage transformation by identifying and scaling manufacturing technologies that improve operational performance and deliver measurable value. This role collaborates closely with Manufacturing, Operations, Engineering, R&D, Digital, Finance, Automation, and regional SCA teams, as well as external technology partners, to bring innovative solutions from concept to enterprise-wide deployment.

Compensation Package : $102,700.00 - $137,000.00 . CAD annually + Bonus Eligibility
