POSITION SUMMARY
The Manager, Sales Incentive Compensation Operations and Enablement reports to the Senior Manager, Sales Commissions and manages the accurate and timely administration of Vertiv’s Sales Incentive Plan commission processes. The role directly manages the SIP commission team, oversees attainment and payout validation, coordinates resolution of complex cases, supports quota and measurement processes, and builds team capability through clear standards, training, and continuous improvement. This manager partners with LVO commission operations where work intersects and provides operational input to the overall commissions leader, who retains accountability for the full function, policy, governance, and OIC.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead day-to-day SIP commission operations, including team leadership, work allocation, service levels, payout readiness, and consistent execution of approved policies and processes.
- Conduct or oversee operational audits of SIP attainment, pay sheets, calculations, and payout anomalies before submission and approval.
- Lead attainment review meetings, drive timely approvals, document decisions, and coordinate issue resolution with Sales, Analytics, and commission team stakeholders.
- Manage analysis and resolution of complex SIP tickets, disputes, outliers, and compensation questions within delegated decision authority.
- Communicate SIP commission decisions, payout impacts, system expectations, and resolution outcomes clearly to sales leaders and sales representatives.
- Partner with Sales Analytics and plan stakeholders to answer complex plan and measurement questions and translate findings into operational action.
- Coordinate quota support activities that require sound judgment, including baseline development, measurement support, and resolution of non-routine issues.
- Coordinate large order and mega deal reviews, including analysis of prior decisions, baseline quota context, escalation recommendations, communication of outcomes, and follow-up questions.
- Support annual SIP calculations and year-end closeout, including anomaly research, mock calculations, draw resolution, exception tracking, and sales leader closeout meetings.
- Provide operational backup for Presidents Club reporting and support baseline, quota-setting, and measurement processes for relevant field sales roles.
- Build and deliver onboarding, training, SIP workshops, dashboard education, ticket guidance, and open-door learning sessions for commission team members and stakeholders.
- Develop SIP analysts, assign meaningful ownership, establish consistent work practices, and identify process improvements that increase accuracy, capacity, transparency, and stakeholder trust.
- Provide SIP operational requirements, testing participation, and issue evidence for OIC and related systems while recognizing that enterprise system ownership and approval remain with the overall commissions leader.
- Escalate policy, legal, enterprise system, precedent-setting, or cross-program decisions to the Senior Manager, Sales Commissions Strategy and Governance.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, analytics, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in sales commissions, sales compensation, sales operations, finance, analytics, or a related field.
- 2+ years of people leadership experience, or equivalent experience coordinating complex work through others.
- Demonstrated experience managing commission calculations, attainment, quota measurement, disputes, and payout validation in a complex sales environment.
- Experience with Oracle Incentive Compensation or a comparable enterprise compensation platform is preferred.
- Strong analytical problem solving, customer service, written communication, facilitation, and follow-through skills.
- Ability to make sound operational decisions within established guardrails and promptly recognize when an issue requires policy, legal, executive, cross-program, or system escalation.
- Demonstrated integrity, attention to detail, reliability, and commitment to accurate and fair compensation outcomes.
- Relevant sales compensation, analytics, finance, process improvement, or project management certification is preferred.
