TITLE: Manager, Revenue Accounting
The Manager, Revenue Accounting at Duck Creek Technologies reports directly to the Senior Director, Finance & Accounting. This role involves providing support and direction to the Revenue Operations Team, identifying areas for improvement, and fostering growth within the department. The Manager, Revenue Accounting develops and maintains strong relationships with both external auditors and internal customers across the organization, working closely with Finance Planning and Analysis (FP&A), Accounts Receivable (AR), Sales Operations, Customer Success, and Legal to assist in the evaluation of new sales opportunities, set up infrastructure and processes for processing new product offerings, review executed contracts for appropriate revenue recognition, and manage the monthly accounting close process for revenue and related accounts. A strong understanding of SaaS operations and accounting under ASC 606 is essential, as are strong management skills, accountability and a continuous-improvement mindset. This role offers high visibility to the executive team and the opportunity to participate in new system implementations and other department enhancement initiatives at a dynamic, growing global software company.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Manage a team of two senior analysts in the Revenue Operations department, including the recurring review of supporting revenue schedules, journal entries and monthly account reconciliations.

Serve as secretary of the Deal Desk Committee, who is responsible for approving pricing on new sales opportunities; Involves assisting the Sales team with preparing supporting schedules for presentation to the Committee, documenting required follow-up tasks and their resolution, preparing Deal Desk meeting minutes and summarized reporting of Deal Desk activity.

Maintain the SaaS Master schedules and review new contracts entered therein by the Senior Analysts for appropriate revenue recognition and consistency with executed contracts.

Assist in the determination of appropriate revenue recognition under ASC 606 Contracts with Customers for new product offerings or changes in contract terms.

Aid in ongoing and future projects (ie: pricing model changes, revenue automation, integrations).

Partner with FP&A to build and maintain the revenue forecast model, including key metrics of ARR, ACV and DSO.

Assist with the preparation of revenue-related disclosures and metrics for both internal and external financial reporting.

Serve as a key resource for external auditors related to revenue and revenue-related requests and queries.
WHAT YOU’VE DONE:
-
Bachelor’s or Masters Degree and/or equivalent experience relevant to functional area
-
5+ years of relevant experience in a software revenue operations function or equivalent; 2-3+ years of public accounting experience.

Experience managing/supervising junior team members.
PREFERRED:
-
Relevant accounting and ERP software experience preferred (Workday, Salesforce, RightRev).

CPA preferred.
-
Experience with system implementations and process enhancements preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES & BEHAVIORS:

Strong understanding of US GAAP, particularly with respect to ASC 606, Contracts with Customers.

Solid grasp of the quote to cash process, including internal controls.
