Manager, Manufacturing Quality Engineering
Position Summary
This position is responsible for leading Quality Engineering and customer quality activities for CelLink’s Georgetown operations. The Quality Engineering Manager ensures customer and product quality requirements are translated into robust quality plans throughout development, launch, and production. This role serves as a key quality interface with customers and partners closely with Manufacturing Quality, Process Engineering, Operations, and Design Engineering to drive product qualification, effective problem solving, and continuous improvement.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead Quality Engineering and customer quality activities for the Georgetown site, including Quality Engineers and assigned quality personnel; establish priorities, develop technical capability, and ensure effective execution of product and customer quality requirements.
- Own and coordinate APQP/PPAP, product qualification, first article inspection, and quality deliverables for new product introductions and product/process changes; maintain accountability for identification, documentation, implementation, and ongoing compliance with customer-specific quality requirements.
- Lead Quality Engineering validation for NPI and new-program builds, including pre-shipment quality review and release validation to ensure product meets applicable customer, drawing, specification, and customer-specific requirements prior to shipment.
- Serve as a primary Georgetown quality interface for customer quality matters, including customer complaints, SCARs, 8D responses, customer audits, quality escapes, and corrective-action closure; translate customer feedback into effective internal actions.
- Provide Quality Engineering support for customer-site builds, launches, and other critical program activities as required, including onsite support, issue resolution, customer communication, and coordination of corrective actions.
- Provide technical quality leadership for root-cause analysis, MSA/GR&R, dimensional studies, quality data analysis, and structured problem solving; partner with Manufacturing Quality and Process Engineering to resolve systemic product and process issues, while Manufacturing Quality retains ownership of day-to-day shop-floor containment and manufacturing quality execution.
- Support the VP, Quality in QMS readiness and continuous improvement, including customer and internal audit readiness, process maturity, IATF 16949/ISO 9001 compliance, and ensuring Quality Engineering processes and documentation are effectively incorporated into and maintained within the QMS.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area, follow safety and environmental requirements, and demonstrate CelLink’s culture of integrity, teamwork, self-discipline, and professional competence; other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- 7+ years of progressive experience in quality engineering, customer quality, product quality, or related quality roles in a high-volume manufacturing environment, including 2+ years leading or supervising engineers or other quality personnel.
- Demonstrated experience with APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, MSA/GR&R, root-cause analysis, 8D/corrective action, product qualification, and customer quality requirements.
- Demonstrated experience interfacing with customers on quality issues, audits, corrective actions, product/process changes, and quality deliverables.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in automotive, electronics, semiconductor, battery, flexible circuits, or other high-volume advanced manufacturing environments.
- Strong working knowledge of IATF 16949, ISO 9001, APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, and customer-specific requirements.
- Six Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt, ASQ CQE, or similar quality certification preferred; experience with automotive customer quality systems and requirements is a plus.

- Strong knowledge of quality engineering methods, APQP/PPAP, product qualification, measurement systems, statistical analysis, structured problem solving, and corrective-action methodologies.
- Strong customer-facing communication, leadership, analytical, and cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to translate technical quality issues into clear actions and drive timely closure.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, customer requirements, inspection criteria, and quality data and apply them to product and process quality decisions.
Working Conditions / Hours / Physical Requirements
Full‑time, salaried‑exempt position.
Desk/Office Situated on or Near the Manufacturing Floor: This role combines office-based quality engineering and customer-facing work with regular presence in manufacturing areas.
Manufacturing/Production Area: Periodic exposure to high noise from operating equipment, moving mechanical parts, nuisance dust, and common industrial chemicals used in manufacturing. Appropriate PPE is provided and required where applicable.
The employee frequently remains in a stationary position and operates a computer and other productivity tools. The employee regularly moves about both the desk location and manufacturing areas and communicates and exchanges information effectively. The role will involve frequent use of a computer and related equipment to enter and process data.
Bending, balancing, or working in varied positions may be necessary. Employees may occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds independently, or up to 50 pounds with assistance. This position requires sufficient visual acuity, with or without reasonable accommodation, to review product, drawings, specifications, inspection criteria, measurement results, and other quality documentation.
May require extended hours and occasional weekends to support customer requirements, significant quality issues, audits, product launches, and critical program milestones.
Travel up to 20% to CelLink sites, suppliers, vendors, and customer locations as needed.
