Northrop Grumman's Space System Sector is seeking a Integration and Test Quality Manager (Level 2) to join our team in Chandler, AZ. This position is fully on-site and cannot accommodate telecommute work. Relocation assistance is not available.

This role will manage our Chandler Integration and Test Quality Team and will interface and support all Field Site Integration and Test teams in VSFB, Promontory, Huntsville, and Wallops.  The team includes a total of 25 plus direct reports. Manager will provide Launch Manifest oversite and ensure that Quality is supported at all field campaigns.  Travel is required and can be as much as 20%. 

The selected Manager will:

  • Be responsible to ensure that we meet all customer quality requirements, including reviews of Mission Assurance Contract Summaries and Program Plans. 

  • Ensure that all Quality metrics are measured and monitored and report progress on a monthly basis. These metrics will include items such as Launch Readiness Review items, Product Escapes, First Articles statuses, drawing reviews/approvals, non-conformance reporting, corrective action reporting, continuous improvement activities, and performance review management.

  • Hold the key role to represent the Launch Systems division in supporting digital transformation and continuous improvement quality initiatives. 

  • Interface with the Production Quality and Procurement Supplier Quality teams to ensure that company values and company's overall metrics are met.

This position will work a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off.

 

Your Role and Impact:

  • Develop, modify, apply and maintain quality evaluation and control systems and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished materials product.

  • Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place.

  • Manage the administration of the Production Quality Integration and Test team’s usage of our systems tools such as Solumina I-series MES, TipQA, Discus FAI software, Costpoint, and Shop Floor time.  

  • Have familiarity with Advanced Quality Planning execution; ie PFMEA, Control Plan, and SPC Analysis.

  • Devise and implement methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment.

  • Design and analyze inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment; conducts quality assurance tests; and performs statistical analysis to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for, products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications.

  • Audit quality systems for deficiency identification and correction.

  • Ensure that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with requirements.

  • May specialize in the areas of design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation and reliability, inventory control and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality.

  • May be certified in lean and six-sigma quality engineering methodologies.

  • Other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of related experience – OR – Master’s degree with 6 years of related experience.  

  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance 

  • Ability to travel up to 20%

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • Active U.S. Government Security Clearance

  • Experience managing people preferred

Primary Level Salary Range: $15,000.00 - $172,400.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
