Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a talented Manager Quality 1 .

What You'll Get to Do:

  • Supporting ISO, LEAN, and Quality initiatives.

  • Ability to document and standardize task and efforts.

  • Managing represented employees and interacting with Labor Relations.

  • Working to company policy, business conduct and standards.

  • Devises and implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment.

  • Designs and analyzes inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment; conducts quality assurance tests; and performs statistical analysis to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for, products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications.

  • Audit quality systems for deficiency identification and correction.

  • Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with requirements.

  • Strong communication, presentation, and analytical skills.

The ideal candidate must be able to communicate written and verbally, work in a team environment, and provide direction to employees utilizing management guidelines and general policies. This position is fully on-site.

Basic Qualifications for the Manager Quality 1:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 5 years of quality and/or manufacturing experience; Master’s Degree with 3 years of quality and/or manufacturing experience; Associates Degree with 7 years of quality and/or manufacturing experience; OR 9 years of quality and/or manufacturing experience in lieu of degree.

  • Experience with leading teams in a manufacturing or production environment.

  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.

  • Experienced with Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) techniques.

  • Experienced with ISO9001 or AS9100 Quality Management System.

  • US citizenship required.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • 2+ years of experience in management or leadership

  • Experienced with dispositioning hardware for quality related issues in a manufacturing facility.

  • AS9100 Lead Auditor Certification or Equivalent.

  • Experienced with electrical or mechanical design requirements, drawings and specifications.

  • Experienced with Quality Notifications, Production Orders and Purchase Orders.

  • Experienced working knowledge of inspection tools, methods and techniques used for hardware reviews, validation and inspections.

  • Experienced with AS9102 First Article Inspections (FAI).

  • Experienced with Acceptable Quality Limits (AQL).

  • Experienced is design and application of inspection.

Primary Level Salary Range: $110,000.00 - $165,000.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
