Summary Generated by Built In

Spotify’s Propositions team is responsible for what we offer and how we package it — the plans, tiers, and propositions that shape how hundreds of millions of people experience and pay for Spotify. As Manager - Proposition Strategy, you’ll help define how Spotify grows its next billion users by developing affordable, locally relevant propositions, evolving existing tiers, and identifying new opportunities that can unlock sustainable growth.

This is a role for someone who thinks in business cases as much as ideas. You’ll take work from an initial hypothesis through to an executive-ready recommendation — building the economics, assessing margin and licensing implications, modeling cannibalization risk, and creating a clear narrative for senior leaders. You’ll work closely with Strategy, Finance, Product, Legal, and Market teams, and your work will directly influence the propositions Spotify brings to some of the world’s fastest-growing markets.

What You'll Do

  • Develop new proposition opportunities and evolve existing subscription tiers, grounding recommendations in strong commercial thinking and local market realities.
  • Own the full journey from initial hypothesis to executive recommendation, including opportunity sizing, unit economics, margin and licensing analysis, cannibalization modeling, and the final narrative.
  • Build and stress-test business cases that account for Spotify’s licensing structure, local market dynamics, currency considerations, and subscriber economics.
  • Identify and quantify potential cannibalization across existing tiers and revenue streams, including the relationship between free, lower-cost, and standard offerings in price-sensitive markets.
  • Partner closely with Finance, Product, Legal, Strategy, and Market teams to challenge assumptions, build alignment, and shape clear recommendations.
  • Monitor competitive, consumer, and macroeconomic developments to identify opportunities and risks that should inform the proposition roadmap.
  • Turn complex analysis into clear choices and recommendations that help senior leaders make informed decisions.

Who You Are

  • You have experience in product strategy, management consulting, corporate strategy, business development, or a related area, with a track record of turning ambiguous questions into structured recommendations.
  • You are comfortable building and owning complex financial models, including unit economics, margin analysis, scenario modeling, and cannibalization frameworks.
  • You understand the dynamics of high-growth consumer markets and have experience working across different markets or geographies.
  • You can translate complex commercial trade-offs into clear, compelling narratives for senior audiences.
  • You work effectively across functions and levels, building alignment while constructively challenging assumptions.
  • You balance analytical rigor with sound judgment and are comfortable moving between detailed analysis and broader strategic thinking.
  • You are curious about markets where established playbooks may not apply and enjoy finding practical paths through uncertainty.

Where You'll Be

  • This role can based in New York or London.
  • We offer you the flexibility to work where you work best! There will be some in person meetings, but still allows for flexibility to work from home.

The United States base range for this position is $147,133–$210,191, plus equity. The benefits available for this position include health insurance, six-month paid parental leave, 401(k) retirement plan, monthly meal allowance, 23 paid days off, paid flexible holidays, and paid sick leave. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Skills Required

  • Experience in product strategy, management consulting, corporate strategy, business development, or a related field
  • Track record of turning ambiguous questions into structured recommendations
  • Ability to build and own complex financial models, including unit economics, margin analysis, scenario modeling, and cannibalization frameworks
  • Understanding of high-growth consumer markets and experience working across markets or geographies
  • Ability to translate complex commercial trade-offs into clear narratives for senior audiences
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and build alignment while constructively challenging assumptions
  • Analytical rigor, sound judgment, and comfort balancing detailed analysis with broader strategic thinking
