The Job’s Mission:

As Manager Product Marketing, you will lead a talented team of Product Managers and drive market share growth for Stryker’s Neurosurgical (NS), Ear Nose & Throat (ENT), Craniomaxillofacial (CMF) and Interventional Spine (IVS) businesses in Northern Europe (i.e., Benelux & Nordics) – through the formulation and execution of effective marketing plans consistent with overall business objectives. In collaboration with Sales Leadership and cross-functional stakeholders, you and your team will be responsible for the Northern Europe marketing strategy and execution for portfolio growth – through marketing campaigns, customer engagement strategies, portfolio development, internal and external education initiatives, etc.

What you will do:

  • In your new role, you will start with a familiarization phase to learn about our portfolio and build relationships with internal/external stakeholders.

  • Manage, lead and motivate a team of Product Managers (~2 direct reports): you will coach and develop your team to achieve their full potential – promoting an environment that fosters personal growth and development.

  • Enable your team to deliver high quality results with passion, energy and drive to meet business priorities.

Developing the Strategy and Marketing Plan:

  • Support your team to interpret and present regional market insights to key business stakeholders, incorporating such insights into marketing strategy for the portfolio.

  • In collaboration with the Brand Marketing team and other stakeholders and, in alignment with Global/European guidelines, you will create the Annual Marketing Plan for Northern Europe and portfolio roadmap – to achieve required growth, profit and market share targets.

  • Manage branding, messaging, positioning of assigned brands based on market, customer and competitive insights.

  • Define and execute regional product life cycle including phase-in (launch) and phase-out of products.

  • Support your team to extract the strategy from marketing plans, coach to spot potential improvement areas and define mitigating actions to deliver on strategy.

  • Collaborate with other divisions of Stryker to gather and implement best-practices.

Marketing Objective:

  • Guide teams in linking the marketing budget to customer acquisition and retention objectives – and in allocating resources to drive the greatest return for the Annual Marketing Plan, Commercialization Plans, etc.

  • Develop an effective KPI strategy to determine if marketing objectives have been effective in driving customer engagement.

Communication Strategy:

  • Articulate desired communications outcomes consistent with marketing strategy to the Marketing Communications teams.

  • Partner with Marketing Communications to create/distribute scalable assets, tools, marketing campaigns and best practices, localized for maximum impact.

Sales Enablement & Support:

  • Provide clear strategic direction to the field Sales organization through written/verbal communications, presentations at training meetings and informal interactions.

  • Partner with Sales leadership regularly to implement the marketing strategy, adjust tactics and monitor effectiveness.

  • Coach direct reports on how to best support the Sales organization and to leverage product resources and information to address questions from regional Sales teams.

  • Analyze regional sales, business performance, etc. to identify areas for further growth.

  • Demonstrate financial acumen and support in identifying key drivers to establish pricing strategy for the region.

Customer Centric Development & Customer Engagement:

  • Coach the team to gather and present relevant customer segmentation and to articulate the value proposition to the specific audience.

  • Respond to market dynamics and shifts in order to maintain competitive advantage and address the needs of the Sales organization.

  • Support to improve methods for maintaining customer feedback/responsiveness – understanding what current and potential customers need to drive value in the portfolio.

  • Create education and brand experience opportunities for both internal and external audiences to increase brand perception and value in collaboration with other stakeholders. You will also support your team during in-market customer interactions/experiences, industry meetings, tradeshows, etc.

  • Develop key relationships with industry/market thought leaders, organizations and institutions – providing input towards developing and leveraging Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) for the brands.

Other:

  • Work with country leadership to forecast demand and partner with Supply Chain accordingly.

  • Mentor, develop and influence across the business, intentionally building cross-divisional relationships.

What you need:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree is required (preferably in Marketing, Business Administration, Sciences or related).

  • 8+ years of work experience is required.

  • Ability to accurately and effectively manage (marketing) projects to ensure timely outcomes.

  • Excellent interpersonal communications, persuasion and presentation skills – with proficiency in spoken and written English.

  • Strong strategic-thinking and growth orientation, analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently and to also establish relationships/work in collaboration with others.

  • Demonstrated ability to relate to stakeholders and customers from different markets and cultures.

  • Ability to understand and work within complex interdivisional procedures and policies.

  • Impeccable work ethics & integrity in managing confidential information.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & PowerPoint).

  • You have a valid driver’s license and you are flexible to travel in the region as this position involves sales support and customer interactions.

Preferred:

  • 5+ years of experience in fields such as Marketing, Product/Brand Management or Sales within industries such as MedTech, BioTech, Pharmaceuticals or related is preferred.

  • 2+ years of people management experience is preferred.

  • MBA is preferred.
