Role Overview
Cat Digital is seeking a Manager-level Platform Product Manager to lead the strategy, definition, and delivery of analytics and AI capabilities on the Helios Platform. This role is responsible for shaping platform-level products and reusable services that turn enterprise data into scalable insights, recommendations, and intelligent workflows across Caterpillar's digital ecosystem. As a product leader, you will operate at the intersection of platform product management, advanced analytics, and AI innovation, partnering closely with Cat Digital, engineering, data, and domain product teams to translate analytics and AI investments into reusable, platform-native capabilities. The role requires strong systems thinking, cross-functional leadership, and execution discipline, with accountability for shaping roadmap, guiding product managers, and delivering high-impact capabilities that improve decision-making, accelerate insight generation, and enable AI-powered solutions at scale. This role is critical to advancing Helios as a data- and intelligence-driven platform that connects machines, applications, and ecosystems through analytics, automation, and AI.
What you will do:
1. Product Strategy & Vision (Analytics + AI)
- Define and drive the product strategy for analytics and AI capabilities within the Helios platform
- Translate enterprise analytics, data science, and AI initiatives into standardized platform-level reusable capabilities
- Partner with Cat Technology to align on advanced analytics, AI roadmap integration, and data-driven product opportunities
2. Analytics & AI Platform Capability Development
- Lead development of analytics and AI-powered platform services such as:
- Intelligent diagnostics and troubleshooting
- Predictive, prescriptive, and performance analytics workflows
- AI-driven decision-support and recommendation systems
- Drive transition from manual and rules-based workflows to analytics-informed, AI-assisted, and agentic execution models
3. Analytics Enablement (Data → Platform → Ecosystem)
- Define platform capabilities that support:
- Advanced analytics across connected products and operations
- Real-time insights, anomaly detection, and intelligent recommendations
- Closed-loop learning systems across fleets, applications, and user workflows
- Ensure Helios enables real-time, scalable, data and API-driven intelligence across machines and applications
- Cross-Functional Leadership & Collaboration across Engineering, Architecture, and other product teams
- Software Product Execution & Delivery
- Ecosystem & Commercialization Readines
What You Will Have:
- Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
- Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
- Software Product Business Knowledge: Knowledge of and experience with the business aspects and operation of a software product; ability to manage install base, current uses, future plans, and product vision.
- Software Product Management: Knowledge of software product management; ability to operate and manage software product development projects at all stages of the product development lifecycle.
- Software Product Technical Knowledge: Knowledge of technical aspects of a software products; ability to design, configure and integrate technical aspects of software products.
Top Candidates Will Have:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
- 8+ years of experience in product management, with at least:
- 3+ years in platform, AI/ML, or data-driven products
- Strong understanding of:
- AI/ML concepts (assistive, predictive, prescriptive, agentic systems)
- Cloud-native platforms and API ecosystems
- Product lifecycle in complex, enterprise environments
- Experience with:
- Multi-team objective and key result alignment
- Value-based roadmapping
- Experience with:
- Business intelligence, machine intelligence
- Industrial IoT, telematics, or connected assets
- Building AI-enabled or agentic workflows
- Familiarity with:
- AWS/Azure cloud platforms
- Data platforms, event-driven architectures, and APIs
- Prior experience working with cross-functional enterprise platforms or ecosystems
- Prior experience in business case financial expression and investment analysis

- This position requires the candidate to be based in either Chicago, IL ; Peoria, IL; Dallas, TX; or Denver, CO

Summary Pay Range:
$147,760.00 - $240,110.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
