We are looking for a passionate, curious and creative problem solver to be a Manager, Product Analytics at Oportun, reporting to the Staff Data Scientist. Your role will be focused on democratizing product insights and using data to drive product strategy. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analyze user behavior and product usage to proactively identify opportunities for product improvements
  • Partner with Product and Engineering Managers to define and measure product KPIs & priorities
  • Design experiments to validate or disprove hypotheses
  • Build dashboards to communicate and evangelize data insights
  • Be subject matter expert on data related to the embedded product team’s scope
  • Deliver analyses in a format that can help drive business and product roadmap decisions by both executive leadership and partnering Product Managers

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 5+ years of experience in a related role
  • Extensive hands-on experience with SQL and data visualization
  • Able to develop quantitative analysis, ad-hoc reports, and models to derive meaning from raw data in order to influence product decisions and direction
  • Strong communications skills and ability to present work to executive staff
  • Self-starter owner attitude with an enthusiasm to work in a fast-paced, start-up environment
  • Firm understanding of statistical principles (eg statistical significance, statistical testing).
