This is a 12-month maximum term position.
What will you be doing?
Leading strategy execution: Oversee the development, maintenance, and evolution of project and portfolio management processes, including benefits management, portfolio prioritisation, and dependency management.
Leadership & guidance: Provide effective leadership and mentoring to coordinators and teams, driving performance and accountability across business areas, programs, and projects.
Stakeholder engagement: Work closely with Program/Project Sponsors and key stakeholders to track project progress, ensuring clear communication and timely reporting on project parameters.
Governance & reporting: Lead the creation and delivery of portfolio status and assurance reports, presenting findings to relevant governance forums and ensuring adherence to Project Management and Change processes.
Collaboration with leadership: Build strong relationships with leadership peers and business areas to ensure alignment of initiatives with organisational priorities.
Process improvement: Regularly review and update the Strategy Execution Framework, Project Management Policy, Benefits realisation frameworks, governance processes, and related procedures to ensure continued relevance and effectiveness. Oversee the product ownership and development of the Project Portfolio Management (PPM) tool.
Onboarding & development: Support the onboarding of new Program and Project Managers, ensuring they understand key frameworks, policies, and procedures.
Risk & compliance management: Work with stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulatory and compliance obligations and related service level agreements.
Continuous improvement: Conduct health checks on projects and lead lessons-learned sessions to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
What are we looking for in you?
Qualifications: Relevant tertiary qualification in Business or IT Management (mandatory), with PMP or PRINCE2 accreditation (essential). Experience in Agile, SCRUM, or LEAN (desirable).
Experience: Significant experience in project delivery, portfolio management (including oversight of PPM tools, and reporting coordination, change management with governance and assurance reporting (desirable).
Leadership & Stakeholder Management: Proven ability to lead teams, develop talent, and manage senior stakeholder relationships effectively.
Skills: Strong analytical, reporting, and troubleshooting skills. Excellent influencing, negotiation, and communication abilities.
Strategic & Results-Driven: Ability to see future possibilities, plan strategically, and drive outcomes. Action-oriented, with a focus on continuous improvement and accountability.
Ambiguity management: Ability to operate effectively in uncertain environments, making decisions and driving initiatives despite ambiguity.
