Vestmark is actively seeking a Payroll Manager to lead and execute all payroll lifecycle activities, maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This is a hands-on role requiring expertise with ADP payroll systems and experience working cross-functionally with finance and HR teams. The ideal candidate brings a strong attention to detail, process ownership, and the ability to navigate a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll Operations & Compliance
- Oversee and process semi-monthly and bi-weekly payroll for all employees using ADP, ensuring accuracy across salaries, benefits, deductions, and taxes.
- Ensure full compliance with all federal, state, and local wage and hour laws.
- Maintain and audit payroll records and reporting to ensure accuracy and integrity.
- Manage year-end payroll tasks including W-2 preparation, filings, and reconciliations.
- Serve as the primary liaison for payroll-related inquiries and issue resolution.
Financial & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Support internal and external audits; ensure documentation meets audit and compliance standards.
- Partner closely with Finance and HR teams to align payroll with benefits, accounting, and reporting workflows.
- Drive continuous improvement in payroll and accounting systems, workflows, and internal controls.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
- 6–8 years of experience in accounting and payroll, with at least 5+ years in a payroll-focused role.
- Proficiency in ADP Workforce Now (or similar ADP platforms) required.
- Experience with NetSuite or comparable ERP/accounting systems preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of payroll regulations and accounting principles.
- Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally and manage sensitive data with discretion.
