Location: Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), Indonesia
About the Role
Compassion International is seeking a Manager of Partnership to lead and support our church partners in the East Nusa Tenggara region. This role is critical in strengthening local church ownership, building capacity, and equipping churches to minister effectively to children and youth in their own communities.
As the primary liaison between Compassion and church partners, you will lead a team of Partnership Facilitators and ensure alignment with Compassion’s Partnership Management process. This position plays a key role in advancing our mission to release children from poverty in Jesus’ name, particularly as we continue to grow and expand in the NTT region.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Team Development
Lead, coach, and develop a team of Partnership Facilitators
Provide performance management, mentoring, and support for staff growth
Build a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and accountability
Church Partnership and Capacity Building
Strengthen relationships with church partners, pastors, and community leaders
Support churches in building ownership, capacity, and resources for ministry
Guide churches through the program cycle: needs assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
Apply the Partner Maturation Model to support each church’s unique journey
Program and Partnership Management
Ensure alignment with Compassion’s Partnership Management core process
Monitor progress toward child, youth, and church outcomes using data and field insights
Conduct regular reviews of work plans, reports, and church feedback to improve effectiveness
Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration
Serve as the primary liaison between Compassion and church partners
Collaborate with Program Support, Business Support, and other team leaders
Support communication with sponsors, donors, and visiting stakeholders
Operational and Strategic Leadership
Contribute to departmental planning and budgeting
Align team efforts with Compassion’s regional and global strategies
Support workforce transitions and partnership development in line with organizational priorities
Child Protection and Advocacy
Champion child protection standards across all activities
Ensure compliance with Compassion’s policies and Code of Conduct
Advocate for the needs and protection of children in all decision-making
Qualifications :
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
At least 5 years of leadership experience, including team management
Experience working with churches or faith-based organizations (strongly preferred)
Experience in community development or partnership work is an advantage
Skills & Competencies
Strong leadership and people development skills
Ability to build and sustain relationships with diverse stakeholders
Strategic thinking with strong operational execution
Effective communication skills, including English fluency (required)
Ability to work in remote and challenging environments
Additional Requirements
Familiarity with the NTT context, based in Kupang
Strong cultural awareness and adaptability
Demonstrated resilience and commitment to serving in high-poverty communities
May be required to travel 20% of the time
