About the Role
The Manager, New Hire Services & Onboarding Process Design & Optimization Lead is responsible for designing, optimizing, and continuously improving global new hire and onboarding processes to ensure accuracy, compliance, operational efficiency, and positive employee experiences from offer acceptance through early tenure.
This role applies leading practice process architecture, documentation, and process enablement frameworks across onboarding domains-from pre-hire data intake through day-one readiness, onboarding transactions, and integrations with payroll and benefits-while partnering closely with Talent Acquisition, HR Operations, Technology, and Risk.
The role enables consistent and compliant onboarding outcomes by defining scalable standards, controls, and metrics, while execution accountability remains with HR Operations, Shared Services, and regional onboarding teams.
Success in this role requires close alignment with HR Operations and Talent leadership to translate strategy into scalable new hire and onboarding processes.
Key Responsibilities• Partner with HR Operations and Talent leadership to support global new hire services and onboarding process design and optimization initiatives.• Enable and support standardized onboarding process documentation that supports accuracy, auditability, and employee clarity.• Support leadership by defining structured global versus localized onboarding data standards and service models.• Function as a process design lead and trusted advisor for onboarding system enhancements, intake model changes, and operating model evolution.• Partner with Product & Engineering to optimize workflows, validations, and integrations within Workday Core HCM and onboarding-related functionality.• Support testing and deployment of onboarding process changes.• Leverage metrics to monitor onboarding accuracy, cycle times, readiness gaps, and rework.• Support cross-functional alignment with Talent Acquisition, Payroll, Benefits, Risk & Compliance, and Technology teams.• Assess onboarding process impacts driven by hiring model changes, acquisitions, workforce planning shifts, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications & Leadership Profile• 7+ years of experience in onboarding operations, HR operations, HR process design, or shared services environments.• Demonstrated experience designing end-to-end onboarding and new hire processes in global organizations.• Strong working knowledge of Workday Core HCM and Workday Recruiting.• Understanding of audit controls, data governance, and compliance requirements related to hiring and onboarding.• Strong analytical, communication, and influencing skills.• Enterprise first mindset with accountability for process quality and continuous improvement.
