Job Description

CEDA is currently hiring a Manager, Mechanical Services in Sudbury, ON to lead our mechanical services team and help drive the continued growth of the business.

Reporting to the General Manager, you’ll oversee day-to-day operations while helping shape the future of mechanical services in the region. From leading people and managing projects to financial performance and customer relationships, this role has a direct impact on how the business operates and where it goes next.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and hands-on leadership to drive safe, consistent and efficient operations across the mechanical services team.
  • Champion CEDA’s safety culture, ensuring work meets company policies, regulatory requirements and client expectations.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the Sudbury region, while supporting client relationships, proposals and bids.
  • Lead, coach and develop operations leaders and field teams to build a skilled and high-performing workforce.
  • Oversee project planning, resource allocation and risk management to deliver work safely, on schedule, within budget and to quality expectations.
  • Work closely with Maintenance, Projects, QC, HSE, Supply Chain and Finance to keep priorities aligned and resolve issues.
  • Oversee the financial performance of the business, including forecasting, costing reviews, budgeting and performance analysis.
  • Partner with the General Manager on long-term strategy, continuous improvement and business growth.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as required to support the success of the department.

Role Specifications

  • 5+ years of experience leading teams in a heavy industrial environment, with a strong mechanical background is required
  • Strong financial acumen with an understanding of project costing, budgeting, forecasting and business performance
  • Experience with business development, client relationships and supporting proposals or bids is an asset
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, with experience using project control or business intelligence tools such as Power BI is an asset
  • Journeyperson trade certification would be considered an asset
